Installed my mini split yesterday, thanks for your video, had to relocate the front panel because was a little bit lower than the hose wall hole and condensation water stayed on panel instead fluid through drain hose, so an advice for whoever wants to install, make sure the wall hole is lower than drain outlet

I ran the drain hose to a area where there is gravel. I only wrapped the gray wrap where the pipes was exposed.

What happens if you don’t use the pump just hook it up without doing that vacuum part ? I don’t have a pumpkin I don’t know where to rent one.
@MadeByGW Жыл бұрын
I think the vacuum is a must or you will have air in the line and it will damage the unit. You can purchase the vacuum on Amazon (I have a link in the description). It's about $140. After installation, you can sell it. Even if you didn't and ended up spending $140 on a vacuum, it is still a lot cheaper than hiring someone to install it.

Thanks for the video I just installed one of the Confortotal 1200BTU unit in my place but this making a whirring noise once in a while even I turned off the A/C. This sound coming from the inside unit and seems like inside fan is turning with the noise sound about 30min and quite a bit and doing it again even I turned off the power. I unplugged the main power from due to the whirring noise sound for now. Anyone has same issue? or any suggestion?

Do you mean the fan turning on/off based on the set temperature? If so, I don't think it has that feature which is something I wish it has.

Did you have to add Freon to the system? The unit I bought about a month ago is a pre-sealed system. I was just wondering because I noticed you had to run a vacuum down to 500 µm for 15 minutes which would imply that you had to charge the system with Freon. Also, is it necessary to use the gray wrap outside on the line sets? I haven’t opened the box on my system yet and was wondering if it comes with the gray insulation that you installed on your high-pressure low pressure lines?
@cmarshall1087 ай бұрын
The vacuum pump was used to remove the air and moisture from the copper line set. The unit comes pre-gassed, once the unit is turned on the gas fills the copper lines that were under vacuum pressure. It works pretty much the same to how you recharge a vehicle AC system.

The unit is precharged, but not the lines. This is why the lines need to be vacuumed before releasing the freon into the lines.
