Hi, I think you briefly touched on polarity inverting the HDL-6A speakers. Can I ask why? (Still learning!). Thanks

Appreciated the Idea! one thing concerns me is that I don't know how to set up the Matrix/programs itself first, but I get the Idea. I was planning to get the AHM32 for our main console SQ7, but like I've said the first part of the process where I can connect things and set up everything is the thing that I have to learn first. Great Video!

Fantastic video as always. Your videos have helped me no end in system tuning! Also love Michael the handsome's book. Just because you can change something, doesn't mean you have to. Always have a reason!

Thank you so much! Yes, I owe much to Michael Lawrence. Such a wonderful audio human.

Great video, It would be great if you did a fundamentals series on audio theory explaining things like decibel calculations,phase/summation,crossovers, interpreting audio graphs/and some of the more math based stuff. I’ve found a lot of stuff either misses important information out or gets fair too technical early on when explaining the fundamentals of audio.

I do have some public videos that touch on these fundamentals that you mentioned, but it's actually my course that focuses on exactly what you mentioned and presents it all in a digestible and linear fashion. Let me know if you have any questions about it: www.producedbymkc.com/makingsenseofsound

Love the video, very informative. What level is best to shoot for in the processing chain from inputs to subsystems and individual speakers, -12db or 0db? What’s your advice?

Michael Im curious why your target curve has a low pass filter? Why would you want to taper off your top end above 16khz? I mean I know there isnt a TON of information up there, but there is some, and usually thats the "air" in your mix.

I assume you have a Dante card in the AHM to expand it's compatibility with consoles from different manufacturers?
@MichaelCurtisAudio Жыл бұрын
I don't own an AHM-64, but I think a Dante card is a great idea. Nothing wrong with going good 'ole analog in and out if needed.

Are you able to have mute groups, or scenes or snapshots on the processor? It would be nice to be able to patch in two consoles, one for headliner and one for opener. Than you could use the DSP as a mix switch.
@Zamsky39 Жыл бұрын
some processors have that some don't.
@MichaelCurtisAudio Жыл бұрын
On the AHM-64 specifically, yes you're able to change presets and have it do what you're asking.

Do you have a way to link your zones, or do you just copy the eq and levels every so often from left to right?
@MichaelCurtisAudio9 ай бұрын
I just copy from zone to zone, unfortunately.

Thanks Michael Curtis What was the gain volum of each speaker a.b.c?
@MichaelCurtisAudio Жыл бұрын
Each speaker was driven at equal level, so no gain offset. Just some minor high frequency shading.

Thank you for your reply........ Always have a good video. Have a nice day today.

Question my brotha, my name is TJ, love your content. Keep it up. My question is regarding the mapping in the AHM. Does each speaker in the specific array hang needs it’s own zone output? How do you have the entire array in a zone then map out the individual speaker cabinet to another zone ? I thought you can only do one or the other not both as in control the entire array or control the individual speakers. Please advise.

How does this work with AHM if you a getting a LCR mix for a venue?
@MichaelCurtisAudio Жыл бұрын
I would create another input called "center", then have a corresponding output zone that would feed that. It's a very flexible architecture, so you can really route whatever input signal through whatever path you need.
@SethWiese Жыл бұрын
@@MichaelCurtisAudio I guess I did not quite articulate my question quite right. How would you then have overall control (Tier 1)? Would you rely on the console for that control? Would you then create the subsystems on the AHM? I ask because I am setting a system in a few months with an Avantis at FOH and AHM as system management. We will have a center hang speaker and I plan to mix in LCR because I dont want the center to just be a mono sum of the LR. Your timing on the release of this video is uncanny. Thank you for putting these out, I have picked up Micheal Lawrence's book on your recommendation.

I was just re-watching this and I think you touch on it around 3:05. Please correct me if I am misunderstanding this. You have each of your mix input running to completely separate channels, so if you wanted bring over all 500hz down you would have to do that on each incoming channel? So you don't have a global EQ on the full system? You are working on systems much larger then I am used to so that may be the standard at that size, and I just am not used to that. and again I may be misunderstanding what you are showing us.
