안녕하세요! I have taken itf taekwondo for about 15 years, but we don't really use Korean at my dojang. I decided to finally learn the language this year. Its a slow start as I know very little words. I have finally started to listen to kpop and BTS specifically. (Suga bias here :D) Anywayyyyys just wanted to say I recently found your videos and they are entertaining. This is my first language I am learning outside of my native. You may have answered this already in a previous video, but what was the hardest part for you when you first started to learn the language and how did you over come it?

이 방법을 너무 좋고 가사으로 공부하면 제미있고 새 단어를 꼭 기억할 수 있죠? 좋은 노래들은 매일 매일 들어스니까거든요? ^^; Can't say enough about listening to and/or memorizing lyrics. Taking advantage of the fact that you *WANT* to listen to the songs anyway just enhances your recognition of those words used in KPop, without making it feel like a lesson. The number of words which I've said "ah, this song contains that word right?" is so many at this point lol. Like ITZY's Wannabe for example. From Chaeryoung's line: 간섭 = interference. Would never have known or even bothered to look that up had it not been for wanting to memorize the song.

@NataliaGarza3 жыл бұрын
Listening with transcripts! I know exactly what you're talking about! I talked about this at the end of my Ewha self-study tips video, but basically you need to listen to something that has a transcript. 1. Listen to the audio (watch the drama) with no captions or subs 2. Listen/watch again with Korean CC 3. Either read/watch again with English (or your native's language) subs/translations OR being looking at the transcript line-by-line to identify which word you know (but didn't hear said) and begin looking at the new words Personally, if the dialogue or drama scenes is short, I will take a look at the full transcript and read everything aloud. Sometimes I'll notice that while I know a word, I've never read it out loud, so when I hear it it doesn't click automatically. Then I'll go back and listen to the audio/scene again several times as I follow along with the transcript. Eventually I'll try to shadow. I've found that by after doing this, it's near impossible for me to not hear those words when they're used. Granted, this is can be a really long process depending on what material you're using for your audio.
@jmrgeneralmerchandise80183 жыл бұрын
@@NataliaGarza OMG she replies!!! and a generous one!!!!!!! thank you for this! this all makes sense! i thought im just the only one having this problem. specially this one you wrote " Sometimes I'll notice that while I know a word, I've never read it out loud, so when I hear it it doesn't click automatically. " this is me most of the times!!!!! i know the words in my head, i know the meaning but at times i don't recognize it when i hear it. thank you i really appreciate it. and i will incorporate your tips on my study routine! i hope you more success and blessings in life!!!! have a great day!!!!!!!!! :):):) ^^ ^^ ^^
