I am learning Korean myself now. I went into a 3 floors big bookstore here in Germany looked up the milk-glas-board-thingy in the middle of the 1 floor where to find language-books and than I awkwardly walked into the 3rd floor looked up where to find Korean or Japanese and at the same time I made a Japanese guy running away like if he thought : "Oh holly shit another one of those weird weaboos/Koreaboos" cause I was wearing a Big-bang shirt and had my backpack with me (wich is decorated with Kpop- and anime-pins and keychains xD and with unicorns, a foxtail, pins of my most favourite drawing/manga-artist (she is from Germany and really famouse here) and a golden duck-pin of a rainbowcolored duck and yeah^^) ) and than the last thing I heard from the Japanese guy after he saw me is that he yelled in the direction of a cashier: "Sayonara, I don't need anybooks..." and after I took a Korean book (with a lot of parts in it to work in the book where you for example have to write 6 things you can find in a hotelroom or where you have to match hangul and romanasations ^^) and the chashier was funny. As he saw wich book I wanted to buy he yelled at me: "Annyeonghaseo, my sister is making her master in the Korean studies here at the local university. Are you sure, you want to buy this book?" I was arguing with him that my family is full of awsome people (a cousin of me who is half English/half German and is fluently in both languages taught herself spanish, italian, french, swedish, portugese, polish, dutch, norwegian and she even made her driving liscense in spanish and is lives now in spain. An aunt of me wich is from france is speaking fluently english french and German, but German with a little ascent and she can speak dutch and polish. Another aunt of me speaks fluently German English and french and she worked for the English military in a nurseryschool and even became the manager of it with extremly good grades on her exam that she made for it in English (yes she made everything in the English language, even if she, as my mom said was allways horrible in English back as she was a teenager...) I have an other cousin he can speak German, English, Polish, French, Hungarian and a bit of Thai) and so I told him: "Even if I suck at this, I try, cause it could work for me cause my family is good in languages...") and than he smiled back at me and said: "OK, well... good luck and I hope you oneday get it and maybe you onday get the change to travle to Korea..." xD

Integrated Korean (by Hawaiian Press) is a really good series. I learned most from Yonsei Uni's Korean books. Also having a good balance between speaking with Korean friends AND learning from text books is really crucial imo. Speaking with natives helps develop a good pronunciation and more natural speech, while following text books will help you to spell properly and avoid grammar mistakes etc. Also the Yonsei books are amazing for explaining exactly what the sentences consist of and how to use new verbs etc. It's pretty brilliant!

Oh yay!! I'm on the right track. I'm already doing all that you recommended and I even went an extra step and got a tutor. And while I can speak, write, and understand Korean, I'd definitely would like my spoken conversation skills to get much better. Maybe if I wasn't surrounded by English everyday my Korean speech would be more fluent. Guess I'll just have to try harder. Thanks for this video, I feel better about my learning process. 새해 복 많이 받으세요!

I completely agree with the idea of immersion, I only learnt french/became fluent when I moved to france (I was six tho) and was going to a french school (I only just moved to the uk tho & I'm sixteen). Also, I find it really hard to sit down and learn a language if I'm surrounded by a different one. Another thing I should say is if you don't practice the language/use it, you'll lose it REALLY QUICKLY. Spanish was my second language when I was small and I spoke it fluently but now I can't speak it at all because none of my siblings spoke it. Ooof that was long x)

You should get a Rat's Tail to practice really current Korean slang and idioms. I am half Korean, and I know skin care is very important. I noticed that you are having some acne problems, and I know a way to fix it. Asian skin is very sensitive, so use these products to clear up your skin. Wash your face with warm to hot water with a Korean scrubbing cloth, while using Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash, it's the orange gel soap. Use Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Stress Control Power-Cream Wash, as a face shaving cream. Use these products for a month and a half, and see if it clears up your skin completely. If you have acne in your scalp, use Neutrogena Daily Control 2 in 1 Dandruff Shampoo Plus Conditioner. Standard washing products tend to irritate Asian skin very easily, and so these milder skin products are gentler on Asian skin.
