He had a different major and spent money and time in that yet he still decided to not continue on an industry that he doesn't like. I couldn't do it but I guess it's not too late to change that i am a civil engineer grad and worked 3 years in the same field but I am still not satisfied and want to change my major I hope it's not too late

You have mentioned the learning experience of the CS50 course pretty often. The online course actually introduces C language first for beginners and many people feel it is difficult to learn C first without knowing any programming knowledge. Some people raise a question like "Why do I have to learn C first in this course? Because Python seems to be easier for me!" So, my request is can you make a video or even short post explaining how learning C first built & solidified your fundamental programming knolwedge to advance to a next level? I want a video more specific than the previous one! Btw, your video is always inspiring and encouraging for beginners like me🔥 Thanks, man!💫 -From Korea:)

After watching your previous videos, I started CS50X and it's been absolutely great experience, however for anyone wondering about the ACTUAL truth of learning that fast, the response is 0:49 that's it, that's the real key, I blasted through the learning experience fairly quickly when I was on vacation and worried only about learning code. Then had to get back to the most expensive city in Europe (London), while being self-employed, and all of the sudden I'm 3 weeks behind my learning schedule. No way around it and everything else is no as important as being able to have free time and peace of mind worrying only about the thing you want to lear. Everyone else has to triple the time needed cause life happens at ever single step of the way

Honestly, in regards 1:41 (and yes I know it's an ad, but just in case anybody takes this seriously) NO you do not need expensive computer equipment to code. You need to be able to watch KZbin, read PDFs and run an IDE, all of which you can do on ten year old equipment. I own two secondhand laptops that I paid $50 and $100aud for respectively, I watch videos/read on one (running windows) and type into the other (running Linux Mint) at the same time. Do NOT let the cost of computers demotivate you! (Just make sure to back up regularly because your ancient equipment WILL crash and burn at some point ;-) )

The problem is how you compete with CS grads in the future? Right now it's only possible because there is huge demand for programmer's of all kinds, but in the future I can imagine it being harder to compete with CS grads (at least the ones who can actually programme haha)

@@InternetMadeCoder I just got to the minute of the video where you said that we must know where to focus on first and what's the most important. I agree on that too, i didn't plan to learn some mathematics or some algorithms yet becuase i still need to get more familiar with the languages im learning. And i guess my learning path is not as good because i'm 6 months in learning to program and i didn't learn that much, i didn't put in enough hours daily, some days even skipped when i was lazy but i knew my goal and i always came back. I also didn't start with CS50 which would've been a good choice, but i paid for a private school with their 1 year program so i have to continue with that. Anyways sorry for such a large comment (if you actually read this) and keep up the good work.

Happy for you bro but your case is an aberration/abnormality and not the norm. The entire tech industry is built around 'exclusivity' and the high barrier to entry that is the steep learning curve of programming. I wish it wasn't the case but it is. No employer is combing the job market or LinkedIn for developers with 4-month learning experience. I wish they were but they aren't. If they were, your initial video wouldn't be at 1M+ views as you claimed. That is because every other developer with 4 months of experience would have a job. A better/practical advice would would be to appreciate the path that lands you your first job - whether its 4 months or 4 years or 4 decades. Narratives like these only make people discouraged and depressed when they discover it doesn't work for them. They start to think perhaps they aren't 'gifted' enough for the job. Self-doubt, rage and frustration starts to set in because they can't get over the one youtube video that told them they could get a job in four months. Both 'realities' become increasingly depressing to reconcile. Let's stay measured while we try to get views and like here. The average person can learn to code and land a job... just not in 4 months.
