I don’t think the “noisy world” understands the experience of people with high sensitivities. Thank you so much for sharing your world so openly. There are so many of us out here who will benefit from hearing each other’s struggles in this area. I have been wanting to hike alone (but with my dog) for a long time, but the closest I get to it has been to sit in my car in a beautiful area, and watch others enjoying it. Thank you for the nudge, as well as the reality check about not expecting the fear to go away (with the objective of not letting fear be in control). You are a beautiful person.

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. This was part of the purpose of this video. We're in this with one another. Please do share your experience when you decide to venture out!

You've done so well! I work with many clients with fears and phobias and it can (and often does) take some real work to even challenge them. This is great learning for your brain - you've reinforced that you can do things and be ok. This is just the start of a great future. Keep working on yourself and you'll love the results :)

I'm glad this resonates with your work. I hope to continue the journey. Be well. -Yekie

Amazing that you were able to go to Europe by yourself given your fears. That's bold! I also realise that facing your fears will not eradicate them, but they will have less power over you, over time. It's a good idea to talk to the inner voice that is always trying to show you the danger. It needs to be disciplined , otherwise it will run your life. I suffer from generalised anxieties and there are certain things I can't do alone. Walking in the woods is one of them. ☹

You're totally right. It takes a lot to build ourselves up each day, and to follow through on the self appointed restraints we harbor. We can do this together one moment at a time. We can walk in the woods alone together.

Two things. 1. You are awesome! Facing your fears and doing things that you've wanted to do but were too anxious to do. Now that you've done them, it makes it a tiny bit easier to do the next new/fun thing that you've been "saving". I have some of the same anxieties, so I totally get it. I recently wanted to join a local hiking club (I live within minutes of a state park) and when it came down to it, I whimped out and didn't go because I made all sorts of excuses. You make me want to do it. :o) 2. I need more info about your shoes! ;o)

Thank you Julie! I appreciate the sentiment, and look forward to your feedback on the hiking group. In regards to the shoes I mostly wear Vibo Barefoot shoes. Usually the thinnest and lightest available. They also have some great hiking boots.

Hey, I'm a bit late to watching this and commenting but thank you for sharing. This is the closest I have ever come to seeing my own experience with fear and anxiety vocalised online or even offline for that matter. I am still battling through my own fears and also have the belief that they will never be fully gone, but I found this very inspiring. The thought that I can still live with them and get some fulfillment from life is encouraging. Hope you're well :)

Your words mean to me that the world is open, is out there. I am so happy that this resonates with you. I am grappling with the fact that this fear is simply "different" which leans away from the perspective that it is "Me, I or You" (world/family/job/etc). The fear is simply something that I'm supposed to live alongside and not manage or give power to.
