Look at it this way: your sexuality is not you- you are your sexuality. You decide your own sexuality. So, you experiment through physical intimacy in what curiosity you may have. It’s not mind boggling to figure out if you like men vs. women. In high school I had a girl friend but I got aroused while taking showers after gym with the boys. I got married and had children but after 10 years of marriage I confessed to my wife the feeling I had for guys. I am not sure why there is so much "bottom shaming", the receptive partner is the one who is doing the work. "Tops" are a dime a dozen, and few are actually good at it. I like giving, but i also like receiving. Am i as good at it as i would like to be? No. I am not as spiritual about it as you are, but you must be in the right mental space to find the proper relaxation point. It won't always be an otherworldly experience, but thats how sex is. Lubrication, relaxation, stimulation and patience are key. Also, condoms. If you have more than one partner or plan to, use condoms each and every time. Yes we have medications now but they are expensive and have countless side effects. Also, HIV is not the only STI and medications that protect against HIV don't protect against the others.

I was intrigued by this post. When I first came out, years after being fully aware that I was a gay man, I tried all sorts of things to determine likes, dislikes, and so much more to fully understand what I wanted as a fully out and proud queer man. Although I am a bottom, my deceased husband had larger and thicker Johnson than average, and we actually worked with a sex therapist to be able to have sex regularly, instead of only twice a month because I was still hurting too bad from the last time. There was a lot of meditation involved in the therapy and some physical treatments/routines. Great post. Thanks for being so honest and open. I can relate to everything you said. Personally I find trust and connection important as a decider on whether I bottom for someone. I was in a LTR where I was the top but over the years I helped him become more versatile. The connection we had when he topped me was amazing.
