Self-love is amazing. I don't think anyone should carry shame on the topic of masturbation. Without a doubt, I think it's a different experience than being intimate with another person. Masturbation is potentially more intense since we know our bodies better than anyone else. It's a chance to delve into our minds and explore various fantasies-- whatever they may be without the fear of judgment from others who may not understand why something turns us on so much. I think it's a way to understand our bodies, and the sensations it gives us for times when we do engage with a lover. A couple benefits in my opinion. Masturbation can potentially 1) train us mentally and physically once we do understand our bodies to last longer and 2) communicate our needs to partners when we do understand what makes us feel the best.

My physical appearance is ok, im in my 60's now and have gained muscle mass, and look great clothed. My problem is scars from when i was going through puberty. I developed gynomastia (male breast enlargement). I was teased all through jr. High and high school. I hated playing team sports, we'd played shirt vs skins, and always ended up on the shirtless team. These teasing was terrible! I withdrew and hated how i looked. I felt like a freak! I'm not totally over it, i will be shirtless in my pool, in front of my family, but i won't to go to public swimming pools, or pool parties because of the scars from my breast reduction surgery. It left two terrible ketone scars. Being African American, they stood out even worse. It was just within the last 10 years i had my scars tatooed over in hopes to blend the scars into my natural color. Ive done modeling that helped my self esteem, but i never did do underwear modeling. I've got a way to go to totally except my body as it has to be. But listening to you has helped. Thanks!

I love your view of masturbation. I've seen SO many times (from straight guys coz that was my social circle) that there exists (multiple types, but for me mostly) 2 types of masturbation. There's the "I'm horney so I'm just gonna pull up some porn and rub one out real quick" type. And there's the "I'm feeling really sexual right now and I want to explore my body" type. Certain scripture in the Old Testament regarding a brother spilling his seed during sexual intercourse with his dead brother's wife in order to continue his brother's line, is totally misinterpreted regarding masturbation. As far as I believe God never condemned masturbation. There is no scripture in the Bible that wrote that masturbation is a sin. Do it, feel your skin, enjoy the senses in the pleasures that God created.

Silly catholic church created word " onanism " from the story about Onan who *according the church interpretation* masturbated in the Bible...what a stupidity... Reading *carefully* story about Onan and Tamar is not about that he masturbate. Genesis 38:8 "Then Judah said to Onan, “Sleep with your brother’s wife and fulfill your duty to her as a brother-in-law to raise up offspring for your brother.” 9 But Onan knew that the child would not be his; so whenever he slept with his brother’s wife, he spilled his semen on the ground to keep from providing offspring for his brother. 10 What he did was wicked in the Lord’s sight; so the Lord put him to death also."
