I remember when I started my journey (55 years ago). I am not as accomplished as you even now. You have tremendous talent. But I did exactly as you have. I took about 3 months of lessons and then stopped and learned myself for many years. Then, when I retired from the Air Force after 30 years of playing, I began to play in restaurants and bars… solo acoustic guitar. I agree with EVERYTHING you say about learning guitar. It is a JOURNEY, not a destination. I still take lessons when I reach a plateau in my playing. I love your page and learn so much from your experience and style. Thank you.

Yeah, some of the greatest out there are amazingly humble and cool people. Tim Pierce, session guitarist that’s played on thousands of songs since the 80s that seems like a cool cat teaching folks how to play. Lee Sklar who has played on 10s of thousands songs since the 60s is also amazingly laid back and humble. Victor Wooten the coolest of cats teaching folks not only how to play but to be good people. I don’t know about y’all but I see a pattern in these successes.

Guitars' curves are sexy because they are like women's bodies. They all have that hourglass curve, with a thin waist in between. They even have anthropomorphic names like body, neck, head (stock), heel, back, butt... I'm not being crude. Guitars are beautiful. Women are beautiful. God is good! P.S. As a first time clicker.. I think you should have demonstrated your said abilities on the guitar, even if just strumming two chords for a moment. As a lifelong guitar player myself (hence, why I clicked on your video - it said something, something *Guitar* !!) ... it's impossible to guage you and what you're saying without a quick demo..

Here is the thing. I know for a fact that MOST great guitar players had someone to help them. Being young, being beautiful seems to be a constant with having people help.... so Im out of luck because Im not young and Im not beautiful. So Beautiful...is humble. So true. I bought my first guitar many many years ago and I went into the guitar center very naive hoping that one of the so called professionals would guide me to the right guitar and he recommended the wrong one. The body of the guitar was kinda awkward, the stings were heavy solid brass. My fingers hurt very bad, I ran away. Came back and would run away from it again. Soooo now I am back, hopefully I’ll stick around this time but you are an inspiration. Thanks.
