having dark lips as a dark skinned person is perfectly normal though. i don't think we need to be putting acv or lemon juice to lighten our lips to fit some sort of a beauty standard. as long as we're using proper exfoliating products for our lips and wearing chapstick with spf then we're fine tbh

I have done this myself, with the very same brand of vinegar. 😉 You can even add the vinegar to your lips just before applying the scrub, or even the tiniest amount to the honey sugar scrub, as long as the mixture is not too thin, for a nice appley zing! It is quite nice! Great video! 😘

Your lips were cute af before & completely normal. There’s a difference in normal pigment & discoloration from smoking & drinking etc. I have pink lips but Ive always admired ppl with that natural brown color around the lips with pink in the center. I use makeup to achieve this look. My mom has it naturally & it looks like soft brown liner, so pretty, especially with lip gloss or chapstick. As a child I always wondered why I didn’t have it too. It goes to show we always want what others have instead of embracing our own selves.

Considering that she says she does this regularly, we actually don't know what her lips looked like "before." This seems to be more to show a routine, rather than highlighting a drastic change like someone who's never done this before. Of course, I'm all for accepting and loving your natural self, but this seems to be more for people who once had pinker lips that became darker due to external factors. For people who want to try this that don't smoke/drink caffeine/etc, I'd say go ahead and let them. Your best look is the one you feel confident in, even if it alters your natural look a little.

However, darker people in general should take caution for every ‘beauty trend’ because they may already possess the best quality of what they have and shouldn’t need to change for the sake of being like everyone else. I'm an asian girl that naturally gained dark lips over time, my lips used to be more pink and bright and now they're dark on the outer or lip-line parts of my lips and it looks so bad and one of my insecurities.I usually use lipstick to cover it up and I can rarely use lip tints or have that ombre effect since I have uneven dark lips. Idk if it naturally came to be or I accidentally used a lip product or makeup product that caused it to be this way but after I get my hands on some ACV I'll see if I can try this.

no the scrub contains lemon which will irritate your skin and the sugar grains will also be too harsh for your skin and may lead to even more hyperpigmentation. if you want to exfoliate your face, i recommend using a chemical exfoliant such as bha a maximum of 2 times a week. another way to exfoliate your face is by shaving it every 4 weeks, which is very beneficial as it allows products to absorb into the skin better.

Just a little fyi, as a side note to lip exfoliation, lip foundation primer is a real thing, and, strangely, is not considered, or even known about, by a lot of people. Even if you have a nice, natural color in your lips, they are still colored, and can alter the color of lipsticks, some more than others, of course. When painting anything, start with a neutrally colored base, and your top color will be true. It isn't a necessity, of course, as long as you are pleased with the look, but if you are not, then you might wish to consider using a lip primer.

every since i was nince (im 13 now) i had trouble with licking the skin around my lips because that's what was dry. @@ojurigrace2011 yes this is very important if can’t get spf chapstick/ lip balm put your face spf on ur lips before anything else I use 50+ spf. Also I have brightened further with vitamin c at night on my lips with my night regimen so spf sunscreen therefore is very necessary as the skin on lips is very sensitive.
