This was so helpful. I actually made my own soap mold . Exactly like the one your using .. I spent 20$ in wood at Home Depot and and was able to make three 5lb mold for my soaps.. but I have been waisted freezer papers for the last couple of years and I finally used this technique and baby fit like a glove and my soaps are crisp on the edges.. thank you so much for posting this video .. I am hoping to one day get my husband on board the way your wonderful husband is so hand on.. god bless you and your family .

Thank you for your video and all your videos so much detail information. I really appreciate your time in explaining and show how to fold parchment paper for a wooden mold and telling us how big is the mold in inches, width and height. I saw molds on Ebay and they are prices depending upon the of soap by 2,3,4,5 pounds. Price ranges 14.00,15.00, 18.00,29.00,33.00, to 45.00 dollars. The types of molds are the adjustable type that have 2 long screws and bolts to hold the mold together. I did get 2 pound one last year. I want one like yours.

Thanks for showing how to line a mould as I've found that when I go to unmold my soaps a couple of times that they just crush or get slightly pushed in from the silicone liner and it's disheartening! This is going to make my detailed side very happy!

I've wondered if parchment paper would work, everyone recommends freezer paper, parchment is much cheaper for small batches. I also recycle my 1 gallon buckets from my coconut oil, I also use recycle chobani yogurt containers for splitting off for colors and weighing my oils out... Perfect explanation for lining the mold and nice 🧼 😁

Would I be able to line a wooden mold if it has two holes at the bottom? The wooded mold comes with a silicone liner but it’s too stiff and it’s almost impossible for me to get my soap out. Wondering if I could just line it?

Hi Jerika Firstly, just discovered your channel last week and I am totally obsessed. All the way from Cape Town, South Africa. I'd like to know, is there a specific reason why you invested in a large soap mould and soap cutter instead of just buying a few soap moulds? I would assume it would save you money and time on folding paper and cutting out the soaps.

I used the exact same parchment paper but it got all wrinkly with moisture and heat. Does yours do that too? I'm annoyed at having to plane the sides of the bars.

I have not begun soaping yet, but I am studying! This might be a silly question but why don't you use the silicone mold inserts? I've definitely seen people do both ways, but am not sure why or what the benefit is.

I think it’s toucher to get the soap out. You gotta wrestle with it a bit and the soap may come out damaged. I started with a 2 lb silicone mold and this was 100% the case for me. So I use paper now and never have to worry about damaging my soap.

Question.. do you think that using silicone liners heat up the soap more when its going through sapnonification process? Do u guys also make you own boxes now? Also what do you do for a cutter did u have hubby make you one of your own. I'm up by kawarthas. Didn't realize your not so gar away..This gives me hopes. I am a driver for food and it's encoding too much for me and everyone is pushing me to do an online business and well I am even artistic so this is a given lol I am a penny pincher when it comes to new things. I just bought a cricuit been eye balling it for yrs. I have a big pro 5 stand mixer as I used to do crazy cakes. I'm about 25 mins from orillia what a great idea. This video hasn't started yet and already I git some good tips. Alot a cottages up thsi way so the vendor tables are a good idea at all types of events. Just a heads up but you probably know this already. Maybe I'll see yous around lol thanks for the great advice with your videos. Much appreciated.
