This is a brilliant method for folding a soap mould liner out of one piece of non-stick baking paper or freezer paper. No cutting, no leaks, just one sheet of paper, folded perfectly to fit your soap mould.
With this method, a simple plastic or cardboard container and some or non-stick baking paper, you can get started with your soap making straight away! There is no need to purchase fancy soap moulds to get started with soap making, just use whatever you have on hand.
New to soap making? This is important!
Sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide (lyes) used in soap making, in granular or flake form or in solution with water/other liquids, as well as raw soap batter, are highly corrosive and require careful and attentive handling and the proper use of personal protective equipment. This is the best video I've ever seen on mold lining, I swear. Common sense blended with skills, which is sadly rare nowadays. So much easier than so many professional soap makers make it out to be as well. Thanks so much for the video. I had been using smaller molds - 2 KG - & making multiple batches at a time until I ordered much larger molds to fulfill orders. Problem was, no liners came with them, and they hold A LOT of soap. I am just about to fill one of those large molds with soap. Just waiting for my lye to drop to around room temperature, then ran across your video.

I just finished my very first batch of soap. I so appreciate this video and the one about how to measure in order to make a batch to fit your mold. I used a box for a mold and the batch fit perfectly following your instructions. I watched a bunch of your videos and used all I learned in creating my own recipe. I know it's supposed to be a simple one with your first, but I kind of went my own way with the help of soap calc. I used olive oil, sweet almond oil, castor oil, coconut oil, and castor oil. I replaced the water with almond milk and added 2 teaspoons of honey at light trace. I hand mixed everything with a whisk and did the room temperature method. I was so nervous when I started, but stirring soap for nearly 2 hours with a few short breaks was so relaxing. I did it in my garage with a nice little breeze blowing. Awesome experience. Thank you for your videos. I learned and applied a lot of what you taught. Can't wait to see how they come out.

Oh wow. I am so happy for you, what a wonderful approach to your first batch of soap! Sounds like you thoroughly did you research - well done. I will be doing some videos on 'no stick blender soap' soon - but a quick tip now - if you heat up the oils a bit, they will emulsify a lot faster (ie. less whisking) Thanks for such a great comment.
@mypinkelephantlife3618
@mypinkelephantlife3618 3 жыл бұрын
@@EllysEverydaySoapMaking Thank you for the tip. I'm afraid by the time my batch had sit for 24 hours, I found it had the dreaded orange spots and white spots I think are steric acid. I believe I didn't have things hot enough for one so the hard oils must have solidified too fast, and even thought I had a nice breeze, I am deducing the orange spots were due to the humidity. I will change things up and do as you said and give it a bit more heat to speed up the process. Question: I know I can still use the soap when it has the orange spots, but what about the white ones? I figure I will let it cure and then use a test strip to be sure the ph is correct. I am still researching to understand the white spots. They are small and throughout when I cut the soap today. In fact they stick out some and I do think it is the hard oils solidified before it all saponified.

Greetings. I just love your tutorials. Easy to understand. Speak in terms that I understand. No steps missed. No cutting important parts. I have been trying to line my wooden moulds. I thank you so very much. Keep the classes coming. Thank you again. Great Job ! 🥰
