I tried using freezer paper to line a box I was using as a mold for beer soap, shiny side up, covered and put in the fridge for about 18 hours, took it out and unmolded, went to peel the paper off and the shiny side stuck to the soap and it was VERY difficult to get all the pieces off. I did this one other time, taking the mold out of the fridge after 12 hours and leaving it until that evening to unmold and got the same results. Not sure what I am doing wrong? Any suggestions?
@donnahenthorn71096 жыл бұрын
@@thcounselor Not leaving the soap in the mold long enough. Unless you are using a severe water discount it should stay at least 24 hours. I use a 2:1 water-to-lye mix and always leave at least 24 hours. Hope you figured it out by now.

Hello Arianne, I was wondering why use wooden molds and parchment paper and not silicon molds ? Is it just practical ? I don't know if wooden mold + parchment paper is more ecological than silicon mold... what do you think ? Thanks a lot Tamara
@ArianeArsenault7 жыл бұрын
Grand repas de fete silicone molds are great, but at this size they are difficult to find and are very pricy! I also find it a bit difficult to unmold slabs from rigid silicone liners. Now about the environmental issue, silicone are probably a better option
@artoftam7 жыл бұрын
Okay thanks a lot for your answer ! As I'm an amateur, I will stick to my silicon mold then... But as I know I'll be having a lot of spare time in a few weeks, I was thinking about buying more molds or making them... I will think about it... I'm sure I'll be able to wait 24 hours between two batches... maybe :p !
@donnahenthorn71096 жыл бұрын
And a correction. She was using freezer paper, not parchment paper. Freezer paper has a coating on one side which should be the side the soap comes in contact with. Parchment paper does not, it will not easily come off the soap.
