Jon, you should invest in a lift kit, some tires, and a roof rack and put a roof tent on top so this way you can utilize storage in your truck, and sleep on top of it.
@katebeckinsnail9106 жыл бұрын
I have one of those quick set up tents, mines 8 person. It's a really cool way to make a tent, it really does pop up in like a minute.

Jon I am impressed, fan would be a win. Think about this. Spare cooler w 2 10lbs dry ice blocks and as many bags of ice on top (ice cream and popsicles dude) keep ice frozen for days. Bad side, fumes w kill you so on the roof on in a boat not in a closed car. Next it w more than likely crack your cooler so think cheap. Good. Nothing better than throwing what's left in the swimming area to make bubbles for the kids just make sure it's deeper than they can swim.. dry ice + wet hands = bad = hospital burns ouch not good. Pop bottle bombs dumb idea. Keeping ice frozen for a week good

Hi Lift jack, also known as a handyman jack. These can be very dangerous, use with caution. Best known for slipping & coming down with load. There have been people injured & even killed using one of these. Interesting video Jon.
@joeycardoza56826 жыл бұрын
I'd look for a place or way to mount the high-lift jack to your bumper. I roll with a 82 Chevy 4x4 and pop-up cabover camper. My version of a "Tiny House" on wheels. Park, crank the top up, done. Just got back from a successful Buck Muley hunt to X-1 in far N. Calif.

I used to use bungee cords like that but they bounce and sag. I switched to ratchet straps and it was so much better.

Careful with steel tow chains! Make sure to get them regularly checked for microcracks(you might not be able to see them) and stretching! Make sure to never rip on a tow chain while trying to pull someone out of the mud as well. I've seen a video where a tow chain snapped under tension, blew through the windshield and ripped the drivers jaw off!

Good stuff man! You might wanna check out the sven saw. They make some killer compact saws, that have super aggressive teeth. I also do the same thing in my flex when I go on tours. But I also secure the rods to the side of the bungees with gear ties so the rods don't sag in the middle. I also put all of my rods in one giant rod sock, so the eyes are protected. The rechargeable fan is a killer item! I might need to look into one of those myself! Good info JB!

Instead of a hatchet I whorls invest in a folding saw! They are light durable and cut through small downed trees very fast compared to an axe. They are also safer as there is less chance of getting wood chips in your eyes or cutting your toe off!

Why not use a Rod Tube mounted to the roof rack? It can always be detached and shoved in the cabin for security purposes but would really open up more headroom and a lot less worrisome should you have a quick stop and get rod tips or eyes busted.
