Amazing video. I turned 50 last year and have been going to the gym to some degree since I was 15, but I am a bad foodie. Pringles, Chicago Town stuffed crust and a tub of B&Js would be a walk in the park for me for tea. I had a goal to hit 200kg deadlift x3 by the end of last year but I knackered my knee, BUT I also set 120kg x10 on flat bench, which I did just before the end of December. Two years ago that was at 95x10. I'm done with pushing the weights up though so I'm going to work on weight loss and fitness this year and hit the TRT in a couple of months. Prescribed, nothing dodgy. Daughter's wedding in May 2024 is my target date and I'd like to shift at least 2 stone, if not more. Little steps and achievable goals so I don't lose faith and get the pizzas cooking. Great work Loz.

Cheers loz, I've realised everything you said applies to me ...... depressed , eat , bored , eat .... no control .. . .. took control when my kidneys packed up due to diabetes ... I was a 140 + class powerlifter with some descent numbers ...... at my heaviest I was 175 kilos ..... dropped to 98 kilos ... back up to around 110 now , but back at it today thanks to watching your video last night . So easy to slip back into bad habits . Interesting comment about TRT , I'm 61 and been looking at that . Cheers

You're an inspiration Loz!! Huge congrats! If I could have asked one question, I would ask you: In retrospect, seeing Thor and Shaw and Hall (and you) going down from 400+ (or so) with seeing someone 'smaller' like Novikov consistently winning comps at 'only' 300, what would be the revised 'sweet spot' for strongman as now 'bigger isn't better'? Funny on how Hollands shed a ton of weight and announced a comeback...

Hey Loz, Thank you for making this video. This year myself I've lost 70lbs (238>168 at 5'11") and I found myself grinning from ear to ear this entire video because the process for me was exactly the same and you hit the nail on the head for every piece of advice. I had tried so many times in the past to make the change only to fail due to diving into a super restrictive lifestyle that was unsustainable for me. You are 100% correct about the key being to find a plan that is sustainable and focusing on progress vs perfection and being able to accept it is not an overnight change. And I hope those watching are able to take those words to heart and apply them. It takes time. It takes discipline. And it takes a lifestyle change that you can be consistent with and, most of all, enjoy. I usually don't comment on videos but I truly hope this video reaches as many people like us as it can, so I am.

I started my weight loss journey in August of 2022. I started at 356lbs (161kg). In January 2023 I'm sitting at 325lbs (147kg). I'm super happy to have lost 30lbs (13kg), but I'm really struggling mentally because I just want to lose 25lbs (12kg) to meet my * first * weight loss goal of being 300lbs (136kg) on my birthday in February 2023. With Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Year holidays I'm still trying to un-do the suboptimal eating habits I had on these occasions... I'm trying to change my outlook, but all I can think is how much further along I WOULD be in my journey if I had not been so gluttonous during the holidays. Like you, I'm just trying to make lifestyle changes. No resolutions, just truly wanting to be a better person than before. Thank you for sharing your journey, your honesty, and reminders of improving each day. I look forward to seeing more of your journey and I can't wait to share my successes with you as well. Cheers!

It seems to me that the problem with TRT is, fat cheeks. All these guys are running around with ripped bodies, big shoulders, but their faces look fat. I'd rather have my face look chiseled, then not. That's part of the working out aesthetics. But the TRT I can spot somebody taking it right away just look at the chubby cheeks.

I got up to 210 pounds from 190 at 6ft4 once by taking creatine, lifting weights and consuming 6000 calories every day for a month. I couldn't imagine weighing 270 pounds. At that weight you could probably eat 6000 7000 calories a day and not gain weight. You wouldn't have to restrict your diet at all. I know when I was eating 6000 calories a day I was constantly really full. It wasn't easy.
