No specific dietary rules, you kept it to this is what worked for ME , you spoke about your mindset (VERY IMPORTANT) , and the key of slow change to create lifestyle change no "quick fix" . Sorry to ask you this i don’t have enough money to pay for a dietitian lol but can a vegan diet cause memory loss? And how come I’m still gaining weight on a whole food vegan diet? x
@ggmash1904 жыл бұрын
Sara Louise V If you’re eating a well balanced vegan diet with the correct supplements if you need them then no. If you’re lacking in vitamin B12, something which both vegetarians and vegans are at risk of, then you may suffer from symptoms which range from memory loss and fatigue. Nuts are great in any diet but are quite calorific as well as grains such as couscous and rice if not eaten in moderation, some fruits and root veg can cause weight gain when eaten in large amounts per day. Maybe check how much in calories you are eating per day by using a calorie counting app or reading food labels for a rough idea of calories per meals and make sure you are in a caloric deficit suitable for your height, activity level and weight if your goal is to lose weight :)

@@saralouisev3436 what gg Mash said is pretty spot on. However, gaining and losing weight comes down to often times to being in a calorie deficit, balance, or excess. Using simple apps such as Myfitnessplan can be very useful in tracking your consumption. People also tend to inaccurately measure how much they are consuming ( tablespoon, cups etc). So get a good idea of how much 2 tablespoons of peanut butter is instead of guessing. Once you have a good idea than you can eyeball it easier. This is just general guide and a way to help people reign in their possible issue they do not realize they are making. It does not by any means mean you have to track your calories or macronutrients for a long period of time or forever in order to be healthy or lose weight if that is your goal. Just use the app while finding what a daily amount of food of x amount of calories looks like for you and once you feel comfortable figuring out how much food in a day works for you and satisfies your hunger .

A lot of people use the concept of "body positivity" as an excuse to continue their unhealthy lifestyle. I was one of them. I had this phase when I would stay up all night to watch netflix, didn't exercise, and just ate really unhealthy food and I would tell myself that I'm prioritising my mental health because I'm giving in to these cravings. But over time, all those bad habits made me really lethargic, and I didn't have enough energy for the day, and I got colds often. Its good to take care of your mental health but don't compromise your physical needs, such as nutritious food, regular exercise, etc. When you start giving your body what it really needs, you'll be surprised how good you'll feel. It's all about the balance :)

For me there's no bad food, but bad habits. I personally started changing the focus on food, if that helps you. For me, eating bad is starving, having only coffee for breakfast, if I eat pizza eat it until there's no more to eat. I recomend start asking questions to yourself like what is a bad food? Is it bad because it makes me no good or because i'm eating more than I should etc. (Sorry if you don't get what i'm saying, i don't speak english that well haha)

I hate running, everytime I would try to run I would get the worst cramps. I thought I had to run to be fit. To this day, even though I am fit, I still feel so shit when I see runners bc they make me feel like I'm not good enough or not putting enough effort in. So for anyone who needs to hear this (including myself): you're body is unique, what works for others may not work for you. Find what you enjoy, don't compare your process with others and don't be afraid to not follow the mainstream

Just an important note: losing weight does NOT lead to better health. I think intuitive eating is a good framework which doesn't label foods as "good" or "bad" or "healthy" and "unhealthy" and doesn't restrict foods at all, but focuses on trusting your body and listening to your hunger and fullness cues. It doesn't tell you you're bad for eating chips or drinking alcohol, it allows you to do these things without feeling guilty about it, so you don't feel out of control around food. I'd recommend the book Anti-Diet by Christy Harrison to heal your relationship with food & your body ❤

Great recommendations. If I could say something: [1] water (drink at least 2 to 3 liters per day. Our cells are made up of 60-70% water) [2] sleep (at least 7 - 8 hours a day. This is the time when our cells regenerate) So water + sleep results in better skin and functioning of our entire body. [3] be happy (stress increases the production of cortisol which produces the accumulation of lean fat in our tissues).

That's way to much water. Our bodies are prepared to normally be in a state of mild antidiuresis, unless you have a high demand (due to a very active lifestyle) there comes a point when your pee looks like water and that's because you're peeing most of what you're drinking, it's doing nothing to your body. The recomended 2 litres include nutrient water, which make up a considerable amount of said quantity. Also being happy isn't a choice, for many. Just give it your best effort people. That's all you can do and it's A LOT.

It's been 9 months since I last saw this video and it motivated me to make some changes starting with my mentality. For the longest time I truly hated the way I looked, but I never seeked to change anything about it In June of last year I decided to switch my "diet" by challenging myself to try a more plant-based diet for a month. I was not eating well at the start of the pandemic, but I wanted to eat more whole foods and really get my vegetable intake in. Although it was challenging at times, I learned so much about myself and what my body needed. Nine months later and I am now vegan and at my healthiest. If you would have asked me before whether I ate "healthy", I would say I did, but looking back at my previous lifestyle, there was no balance. I always struggled to lose weight but in those nine months I have lost 20 lbs!!! I am not saying going vegan is the way, but it is important to seek balance in your meals and really listen to how your body responds to what you eat. Along the way I learned to be patient with myself and I also managed to build a healthy relationship with food. I still have a long way to go in terms of where I hope to be, but I've learned to enjoy every single step of the journey. If you made it to the end and you are also looking for some motivation; You can do it!!!

This has honestly just flipped a switch in my mind - I’ve been in a really bad place recently with how I feel about my body and how I’ve been treating it. This has given me the encouragement and motivation to realise that I don’t need to be constantly punishing myself and comparing myself to every girl I think is pretty or has a better body than me. I just need to take a moment to slow down and make small changes that can help me to feel better. Thank you for being so positive and talking about this in such a healthy non superficial way ❤️

As someone who has struggled with various eating disorders over the last 7 years, I truly appreciate the message of this video, it is really motivating to keep in mind taking things step by step in order to reach a point where you feel happy and healthy and not obsessive over your body or food etc. It can be really hard to change habits but as you said, it takes time, and is worth it in the long run; slip-ups are not worth feeling guilty or punishing yourself over, and that is something that we all really need to keep in mind, probably one of my biggest struggles, but it was really lovely to hear all your insights. thank you, i love your videos, they really do bring a lot of joy and are really useful especially in times like these when we're all a bit stressed or even anxious about the current climate xx you're wonderful

The point for me is, who says that you curviest body isnt beautiful too? For a long time i hated my slim legs and small butt. For me everything changed when i started to be grateful for HAVE a body who can leave me to the places i want to go, when i realize that have slim legs are better than doesn't have one. Be grateful for a body that "works" make me want to do better things with then, like exercise and eat more vegetable. I hope that think this way help you to to better things with/for your body.

I have struggled with Binge eating a lot in the past. What Claudia is preaching here is so good because I found (although I did have bad and good days/weeks) a patient approach is a far more healthy, sustainable way to overcome bad eating habits or things like Binge eating. It makes such a difference being KIND to your body and listening to it, whilst also not obsessing over it. Now my binges or bad days are so so much better (basically what my good days used to be). I believe in you! It will get better, be patient and kind to yourself x

It’s so refreshing to hear an influencer talk about weight loss in this way where the emphasis is on health, both mental and physical. Weight gain is just a symptom of a larger problem whether it’s we’re out of touch with our bodies hunger cues or comparing ourselves to others which causes negative feelings. Everything you said in this video is the key to truly being satisfied with your life and your body.

Love, you don‘t need to lose weight! You are eleven, your body will chance during the next few years and you will grow. Especially the growing will „stretch“ your body and distribute your fat (if you have some) over your whole body. Don‘t ever feel the need to change, especially not at that young age, okay? 💕
