Human beings will never be free, so long as they are in that body of death, they will never be free. Gain the whole world, all your toil for your pleasure, happiness, wealth, security, food, and pleasure. Make yourself rich in abundance, and maybe for a time, in "happiness", but it is all a fleeting illusion. Only Christ Jesus can give true life and meaning, real happiness and goodness.

Most people cannot stop being a wage slave however, we still have control over our minds. When I go to work, I play a movie in my mind and do quiet quitting. It's all mental.

I hated work. Until I decided to just play the game. Now I'm getting a promotion. More money. More responsibility. Have to show up every day now. But my mental state keeps me doing it with intention to do good. Be kind. Manage employees. Care about them. Never yell or become angry with them. Treat people like people. Not machines. Did I just embrace wage slavery? I guess so. But, resisting it, was causing me depression. Once I changed my mindset to doing a job and figuring out how to use the new things and skills learned (communication is a good skill) for my own personal gain/business. Just continue to grow and be better. It made the depression. Go away and good things began to happen. I don't want to tell people what to do or to manage them, but I believe it is the way that I am going to learn how to communicate with people. I grew up an only child. I got what I wanted because I didn't have to share with siblings. Never learned to talk or to get along with others. Took me til almost 50 years old to realize this.

The point is to fight back, and the way I'm doing that is by talking to everyone I know about democratic workplaces/worker co-ops thereby helping to enable and proliferate a competitive worker co-op sector of the economy.

Hi Yazmin, what I understood Mikey said is that the key to freedom and happiness is already inside us. When we live our purpose of serving & loving others, having meaningful & sincere relationships and deciding to be thankful and present, enjoying each step of the journey of growing our unique talents, then we are free and happy. That regardless if we are high school students, employees, or business owners. His example is the free and happy construction worker.
@mikeyposada
@mikeyposada 9 ай бұрын
Yes, because there is nuance to this conversation (like all things), things are not black and white. Modern slavery is real. But freedom is a state of mind. If you can truly understand that, you can chose to be free at any time. From there, from a place of calm and serenity, you can calmly chose the direction you wish to head in. (and for most people watching this kind of content on the internet, it's entrepreneurship and other career paths that will be created in the digital economy) Hence, the synthesizing framework.

This is truly BS. Just find something you like to do and get paid to do it. I dropped out of HS in 1960 at age 16 and went to work. I've worked for various employers ever since, have amassed a $2 million net worth bv saving, investing and living under my means, have two very successful daughters who followed the same formula for life, am still working at 80 and don't have any notion of being a wage slave. It';s a rationalization to explain away a lack of gumption.
@mikeyposada
@mikeyposada 29 күн бұрын
That is amazing. If you found something you loved to do, and were compensated well for it… then you are no slave!!! Like I said, “freedom” is a condition of the mind. The truth is, however, the job market of 1960 is vastly different than 2024… You could graduate with a masters degree nowadays, get a high paying job, do well, but still be unable to afford a home. Not to mention AI… estimated to replace 800million jobs by 2030 (according to McKinsey) For a lot of folks (not everyone) - the internet, the creator economy, and skills related to this kind of work offer an amazing way out of the “rat race”

@@mikeyposada i want to start by apologizing for how i worded my comment, it was inconsiderate to let my frustration show like that. since you're open to criticism, i'll give it more productively. i did listen closely and that was the reason i was displeased--the title is misleading. as a musician who has been living intentionally below her means since age 25, fully in freedom mindset, no kids no car nothing but music, working day jobs part-time for 15 years in order to have the time to create, i found absolutely nothing new in this video and certainly nothing that will help me make the leap from having a day job to surviving off my creative endeavors alone. i mean to say, i've aleady been doing everything in this video for most of my adult life and yet, i am still forced to work a job to survive. making good content and putting it online is too vague advice on which to hoist such a heavy title as 'how to escape wage slavery.' this video is more like, how to be a happier slave with longer, looser chains. which i am; i enjoy a freer life than most thanks to living the philosophies we're talking about, i live abundantly with peace and joy in my heart, BUT i am STILL a slave to the machine that feeds me, and this is still the greatest pain and never-ending hindrance i experience. the things you say here are good and true, but they're bush-league for me. when you boil down the real, practical advice in the video that actually relates to the title, i think you'll find my original comment was not far off. i already know there's no easy path, that i need a certain mindset and have to sacrifice, and i certainly know that i need a product and an audience--this is so broad. what else do you got? without making me go find another video of yours to explain what should have been in this one.

I do agree thet everyone should create and contribute in his own way. But i don't think everyone should be a "Creator" in the sense of putting their message, ideas and opinions online becasue simply put, not everyone has something of value or is even able to achieve this. A lot of people on this planet are hard working and this is a good thing - because without them our society wouldn't exist for much longer. They already create a lot of value through their work, they don't have to create content...

This is not new. But you miss the main point: it's about courage and faith. Our beloved Bapu (Mahatma Gandhi) lived to show what freedom is. Yes it is indeed a state of mind. That's the first step. But if you live freely, you cannot help but come into conflict with falsehood. Violence and falsehood are closely related. At such a stage, you need faith that there is enough good in humanity to protect you as well as courage to face and die as well as watch your loved ones die, for the sake of your beliefs. What happens at this stage is where most people will come to some compromise. If we make the compromise correctly, we should ideally be able to coexist like a virus slowly expanding itself. If we go wrong we either become a slave who is good at wearing a mask or we perish needlessly. The ultimate victory might be to die usefully, because death is inevitable..like Bapu did or Jesus did

This was filmed on an iPhone, good lighting principles and color can go a long way. Audio is Audio technica AT2020, into an Scarlett interface

Thanks for your content! I have a practical question. Do you use a prompter where you read your script or how do you prepare before filming? It would be very helpful to me to know because I'm kind of struggling to decide whether a prompter is useful or not.

No prompter, I write a script to structure ideas and arguments, then I riff off that

There's a reason tehy say "Rome wasn't built in a day" To reap the rewards life offer and the abundance God provides you MUST put in the work!

Indeed, the parable of talents is one of my favorite stories from the bible. Illustrates this perfectly. Otherwise it’s like the story of the man who sat in front of the stove and said “give me heat, then I’ll add the wood” We have to put in the work! And then have faith, surrendering the how and when.

@mikeyposada as humans I've noticed we tend to over complicate the simplest things in life. I live by one simple quote. Do what's possible and jesus/God takes care of the IMpossible. Granted as long what you are putting out there is in good faith.

Though I can’t argue with the fact that I’m young and my “advice” should be taken with a grain of salt. I’ve been living on my own for 4 years, paying for my own university degree with the help of student loans, and working as a freelance creative to pay for my apartment (which I share with roommates) Grew up in Canada as a first generation immigrant, struggled with money, and my foot was amputated at 15 due to medical malpractice.. I think it’s safe to say I’ve lived a full life for a kid (which I unarguably am) Just sharing what I’ve learned on my journey, if it serves people that’s amazing, if not, then that’s ok too.

Someone's age, after a certain point, is no indication of their wisdom or the strength of their argument. It's the person's ideas we have to engage with, not their age or experience, which may explain something about their arguments but does nothing to strengthen or weaken them.

@@mikeyposada Good response! Made him shut up for sure! Those people are everywhere telling you that you can't make it. I encountered them my whole life, and never understood why they feel the need to put others down, as if nobody should succeed since they weren't able to do so. I'm a novel writer. I made it, despite almost nobody believing in me and belittling me. It makes you bitter, to be honest. So if I can give you some life advice, don't become cocky and angry, when you're finally successful after many years of investing blood and sweat. (I'm no English speaker, btw, just saying, in case you wonder how I can be a writer).

Is it really so hard to imagine that people would do this...without being forced to? Ending wage slavery doesn't mean ending work. It means ending coerced work. People making a truly free choice to work together? That's cooperation, and it pays much better than coerced work does.

Explore your genuine curiosities, build skills, document your journey and share it online through a personal brand. The future of work is changing before our very eyes, companies hire on social media, businesses acquire clients on social media, entrepreneurs network on social media, etc etc You either learn to create your digital character and capitalize on the opportunities of this new economy or follow the old ways and have to adapt anyways but years too late

Makes sense. I have no idea how to get money though. What do you suggest for someone who played music for 15 years, couldn't monetize it, currently having to work in a carwash but my back aches too much today?

The big joke is that the body doesnt need food to survive necessarily, its just for taste. You need water and electrolytes allot more mostly aka salt and acv. Armies have figured that out because of prisoners of war, they just get really ripped. Lol. As well as injured soldiers who just need salt water to recover fully.
