Copywriting is a competitive career with low barrier to entry. If you want to excel at it, then read copy daily. Not more books, not courses. One year in this path taught me that all the secrets you learn as a copywriter are opposite to progress. Progress looks like knowing all the market trends and figuring out the "control" copy. I'd suggest new students to not buy courses for atleast an year if they're starting out copywriting and watch free resources online like which Sneha made.

You only need a curious mind of a child... click ads, search topics you're interested in and watch these ads. Observe patterns. In 2-3 days you'll start noticing copy everywhere. it's fun imo.

Honestly, all that matters is experience - If you're looking for a full-time job, certifications might work, dont know. Because I have worked and am in contact with 50+ copywriters who make good money and NO ONE has certifications. What they do have is experience, skills and results - So choose wisely, what do you want to focus on

Hey Sneha I have a burning question keeping me awake all night: Can I become a copywriter even if my English is not much great? Like I can talk in English and totally understand It but don't know complex English words, slangs and phrases. Is it still possible for me to blow out in copywriting? Answer will be appreciated.

Ofcourse - The first rule in copywriting is to keep it simple - We NEVER use complicated words and phrases - Sometimes, which is rare, we might use slangs or some cool metaphors in funnel headline or email headline or to show sarcasm or humour (based on the client's voice and style of writing) but you can always use ChatGPT to help you with that - With the english you used to write this comment, you should 100% go for it!
