Day one is also great for keeping up with kiddo memories! I use this for my daughter’s baby book and decided to journal and print a book for every year of her life. It’s quick and easy. I love the multi-journal feature so I can have one for her and one for me. I appreciate you sharing! I learned some new things, like the search for peoples names is genius!

One of your older videos where you briefly mention using Day One as your daily journal got me to download the app last summer when I was going through a writing slump and honestly just didn't have the energy or motivation to write physically, but so many things were happening that I *did* want to document...so here I am, over 6 months and a premium Day One membership later (what I pay for a one-year membership I would've previously spent on a notebook, pens, inks, etc., so it's worth it to me), and I foresee continuing with this app into the future! Thanks for this video, I had been waiting for a more in-depth view into your journal.

Hi! I really enjoyed watching your Day One KZbin video Beatrice. I have been a big fan of your KZbin channel and I’ve been following you on Instagram since 2020. Thank you for sharing about your journaling experience on Day One Journal. I downloaded Day One on my phone since 2020 and I downloaded it on my iPad since 2022. I also keep a paper journal, it’s a blue bear journal that was a Christmas present my mom bought me last year and I also write in my Day One Journal and DailyBean app. I write in my paper journal everyday and I use my Day One Journal and DailyBean app on Friday’s and Saturday’s, so during the weekend. Have a great rest of your day/night Beatrice! Take care! 👋😊📲💻

Thanks Beatrice for this video ... and all your others too, always enjoy watching them. I've used Day One for a while now, but you've just given me some extra ideas on how I could use it even more, not just the daily entry. I like the idea of a photo diary, weekly/monthly review and also creating a journal section for doing a brain dump when necessary. I already have a paper-based Inspirational Quotes notebook, I think I'll transfer that into Day One too. Would be easier to search through when I need some inspiration or to pull something out for social media :-). Thanks again

The reason journaling on a physical notebook is better because it slows your thoughts down and also reduces the chance of you editing what you wrote because there is no backspace. So your thoughts become more refined. That's why people recommend physical journals. I have always used a digital journal (notion) personally because of reasons that Beatrice pointed out. Hope this helps someone. :)

Thank you for sharing your system. Very inspiring and I hope Day One is paying you...! For me, I've started "digital journaling" with GoodNotes modifying my iPad and Apple Pencil to feel more like writing on paper. (Paperlike screen protector and Very Fine 3rd party pencil tip) Goodnotes has some search capability with my handwriting, but it's not perfect but still pretty impressive. My problem is finding the time, motivation and discipline to make entries. Your video inspires me to keep my eyes on the prize of having a log of memories for me to look back on... 😃

Thanks a lot for the video! You inspired me to keep up journaling. It's been quite challenging to be consistent with it lately. There were some days where I just did not know what to write about. I think that has discouraged me a bit. Now I am ready to go back on track! I will be using a different tool for this but I guess what matters is to get it done. So wish me luck with that. 😀Quick question: Do you go over your notes from time to time? If so, do you do it weekly, monthly or yearly? Sometimes I am tempted to go over my past notes, but I am just too lazy to process them. (Probably, that is another reason why I don't write much, because deep inside I know I will have to process these long entries) so I was wondering if you have a tip that I can use to make it more useful. Thanks a bunch and keep up with the good work!

I perfer digital journaling as well. In the past people have gone through my journals, I've even lost some... which still bugs me to this day. Also I like to take raw pictures alot, and instead of printing them out and gluing them into my journal, I can just copy and paste it directly. No hassle.

I really enjoyed your video. I feel exactly the way you do about using digital compared to the way I used to write things. The difference being. You articulate in a much more interesting way than me 😁 The one thing that I would mention in addition to everything you already said, it is to make sure you back up your digital journal. And, check it at least one time however you see fit to make sure the backup works good. I go beyond the backup too, I actually export my entries every month to HTML which includes my attachments except for PDF files. That way if the developer goes out of business, the app crashes forever, or some other issue, I at least have everything in a HTML file. Also, you mentioned typing is faster than writing, which is true, but, voice typing is faster than typing. I'm sure my reply will be long, and I'm actually voice typing as I'm jogging which would not be possible to make a comment like this while jogging without voice typing. Anyhow great job have a great day.

That is a great idea!! You know, I think I might add that as a monthly planning task, just in case. You never know! And that's amazing that you typed it with your voice hahaha, I think I could find that feature useful, I've just hardly ever used it so I'm always unsure if it'll actually work 😅 but it seemed to work quite well!

I'm glad you got a chance to try it out. I make at least 8 journal entries per day, even in crowds, and they can not really hear what I'm saying, But I want to record the event at the time of the event or thought. I love accurate timestamps of what, when, how, etc. When I speak slowly and right into the bottom mic, there is a %95+ accuracy rate, and any corrections I have to make, I can make with one hand and in a jiffy (that means fast) for you youngsters (: When the fam is sleeping or when I can't speak, I use slide typing, which is SLOW in comparison to voice typing. I have also have a fifteen minute per day practice, of voice typing my old hand-written journals into my digital journal. It is mind blowing how many days worth of old journal entries that i can get done in 15 minutes (I've tried numerous OCR programs with poor results). Enjoyed your video and plan on looking back at your old vids to see what, if any, other digital journals you tried and what you thought of them. I've tried SO MANY until settling on one@@TheBlissBean

I have been a paper journaler all my life off and on, but I’ve never been very consistent about it. I tried Day One a few months ago and found that I really liked the ease by of pulling it up on my phone and dictating an entry - almost like one of those captain's logs on Star Trek. It makes things really easy, and I can note anytime I have something I want to say. Would I be potentially more effective in being slow and thoughtful with a pen and paper? Perhaps. But I don’t think I would be as consistent.

I would still like to use Day One along with my paper journal but I also don’t want to be journaling the same thing twice - does that make sense? And if I use Day One for weekly or monthly reviews for example, knowing me I’d also like that in my physical journal. Does anyone have any suggestions for this conundrum?
@ivankaivanova5561
@ivankaivanova5561 Жыл бұрын
I am the same! Honestly, when you love to journal on paper, digital journaling just won't motivate you. So, my suggestion is - continue writing on paper, but also document your day with photos in a separate photo album on your phone. This way you can do what you love, but also illustrate your memories better.
