Love absolutely to pieces your pages! Nicole, I came up with a new theme for a glue book. I get loads of catalogs and am so very tempted to shop til my fingers drop off***but have decided**I can do a glue book with all my "wanna buy but can't" items and just enjoy looking at the images and realizing all the money I'll be saving by NOT buying and storage of images in a gluebook is so much easier than storing "stuff"! I hope this will inspire others to do the same and save money! Thanks for reading my rant! LOL

About 15 years ago, I made a set of color gluebooks before I knew what a gluebook was. I thrifted 8, 5 x 5 board books all the same. I gessoed the pages, used acrylic to paint the background, then created the collaged pages. I have one for each of the rainbow colors, plus one for pink/brown and black/white. I forgot all about them until I discovered them while reorganizing my craft studio. Now I can finish them 😀

That was so fun to watch! I know I'm going to do something similar. I'm definitely drawn to cutting out images just because of color and grouping them together. One thing I cut out a lot of is from clothing magazines that I get. They all offer the same article of clothing design in multiple colors. Then they stack them up in Rainbow order. I have to, have to, have to cut out those stacks of colors. I'm not sure how I'll use them but I'll figure something out.

I loved this video! So many great ideas. What I am going to start doing when I harvest my magazines is to have some envelopes and put the colored items into them so that when I create my color glue book I will not have to scramble and hunt for images. Omg this is so cute especially the idea of using washi tape instead of gluing! I have so much washi tape so this comes handy! I just made a glue book using a spiral notebook but I think I’m going to try this method instead. I love that green sold sign! I use to like rainbow colors but don’t like them anymore the meaning have changed for rainbows!

I decided to use a softcover art book for my glue book. I liked the thickness of the pages. I tore out several pages to use elsewhere. I made colored tabs to designate the colors. I will only glue things to one side. I tend to lean towards mixed media and all my pages may end up being used in another way. Thanks for always inspiring and making me laugh!

This might seem like a silly question; I noticed that you have a different washi tape of the same color on each page. How are you sticking them together with washi tape? I kind of expected to see two pages stuck together with one piece of washi folded over the two pages.

Yes, I put it half of the strip of washi tape on one sheet of paper, then folded it over onto the second sheet to adhere them together❤️

Oh my goodness yes! When I first started out I only had a few magazines. I had all this built up creativity and no images to work with. It was very frustrating. However I asked my friends and family if they had any magazines laying around that they didn’t want. And before I knew it, I had lots of images to work with. They weren’t always exactly the images I had wanted, but I just wanted to play, so I still had a lot of fun!

Absolutely! You can use anything. I just strongly recommend using a thinner paper, it helps keep the bulk down. One paper that I love to use is Wrapping Paper! It’s inexpensive, thin, and comes in every color/design you can think of❤️

So the backgrounds aren't paint of the appropriate color, but a whole page in the right color, or blocked from multiple images of plain-ish color?

You can add any sort of background that you would like. I chose to use scrapbook paper and magazine images for my backgrounds. You can absolutely add paint for your backgrounds, or even markers. It just helps to have something in the coordinating color to glue onto. If you don't want to add a background you don't have to. You are free to customize your glue book to how you prefer it to be. Just have fun with it. I hope this helps answer your question

I’m not sure if it’s one very long piece of washi to wrap two pages together. OR how far out shld the washi stick from the pages so that some aren’t sticking out too far etc? Hello! I look for free magazines on Facebook marketplace, or neighborhood apps like Nextdoor. I also ask my friends and family to give me their old magazines if they are willing. As well as the hair salon I go to. Many people get them from their library as well, I’ve heard you can get them for very little money and/or sometimes free. Hope this helps!
