✅ Channel Sponsor ✅ GET 25% OFF with coupon code: TechBlock ↪︎ geni.us/tbk-scdkey IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: It is generally considered BAD practice to daisy-chain power extension leads (plug power extension leads into each other). I do not recommend you do this, as it might be a safety hazard. In this video, I am using 13A 240V rated power extension leads, that can handle a maximum wattage of around 3000W. My setup in particular only draws a maximum of 900W in an absolute worst case scenario with the CPU & GPU under 100% load + all the LEDs on 100% brightness. The best way to get around a situation where you might plug power extension leads into each other - is to instead just buy one single power extension lead with enough sockets to begin with (again, make sure to get a good quality one, with for example a 13A 240V rating if you’re in the UK that is). I am making a follow-up video right now, swapping to a single power extension lead. I appreciate all of you expressing your concern in the comments, I understand how someone might see this and try to copy without first checking the maximum current ratings of their power strip…

Here's a business idea: Create a desk where the underside is fully Velcro and then sell accessory products to be paired with the desk that are all wrapped in Velcro so you can attach them anywhere under the desk. Cable management accessories, charging accessories, storage accessories, etc. Upgraded version of this could be magnetic areas but as you've mentioned that would be quite costly. Niche idea, but could always find a way to sell the accessories without the Velcro wrap for generic use as well.
@LazyMoka2 жыл бұрын

The Ravpower USB hub is so nice, I've had one for a few years and I haven't been able to find another until yesterday, as far as your TBK charger I think it looks cool the only thing I can see holding you back is the piece that holds the actual cable/has the cable slide though it. With the coil mechanism not being insanely strong it struggles to glide through back in to position, some sort of similar device that has some hard plastic cylindrical channel(s) for cables would be ideal, could maybe even test some 3D printed pieces.

If you're planning to copy this.. Please be careful with linking power extension straps. OP doesn't put a warning out. Linking more than it can handle can lead to a fire.

From what I understand the hazard only exists if you go over the peak wattage or fuse amp rating. However, as long as the total of all the equipment connected at peak power and current usage is lower than the wattage and amp ratings of the power strip, then it is safe, as with my current situation. Both of my power strips are rated for 13A 240V or around 3000W. I have tested the maximum wattage for my entire setup under heavy load and it was only around 700-800W including the PC, Monitors etc. Do not try to do this with 5A 240V power strips, it's not gonna end well if you go over the peak rated wattage.
