I bought the same type of yarn but the 4 different color pattern. Pink, blue yellow and white. It is Super Soft. I started making a baby blanket for my daughter who is 27 years old. Who really loves this yarn because of it’s softness. I told her if I learned how to crochet one day I would try and crochet one. Don’t get me wrong I am not a master of it. But enough to crochet her the blanket I promised her one day. It is never too late even though she is 27 now. It is about a promise I made to her. Not matter if it turns out square from one side and the other side slated. I know she will love it just the same as a perfect blanket because her mom made an attempt to make it with all the love in the world just for her. Not matter what ever you decide to crochet. If it turns out perfect or imperfect it will be just as beautiful because it is your one of a kind creation. Thank you for your videos they are so awesome and your voice soothing. Love your channel..❤️❤️❤️❤️🌹🌹

I'm so glad that you are using this yarn as well! It's such a great choice and learning can be frustrating at first, but the end project like you said, makes it worth it! I'm also glad that you like my videos! I have ideas of what to film next but my "real" job keeps getting in the way lol. Thank you for watching!

This is the first video that I ever saw where we are sitting there looking at a ball of yarn while you were talking and doing the stitch instead of letting us watch while you’re doing the stitch. It’s a nice pattern. It looks good, but why not let us see you doing it instead of hearing you and looking at a ball of yarn. Thank you.

I am using Bernat blanket yarn for a couch throw blanket. I bought 6 skeins and have encountered 6 or 7 breaks in the skein where the manufacturer has just knotted the two ends together. How do you handle that when you run across that?

This would be a lot easier to follow if the video didn't get blurry around the time you're doing the turn into the first row after the foundation chain.

How do you add the next skein of bulky yarn to the baby blanket & does it matter if it’s added in the middle or closer to an end?

I tend to crochet rather tightly and I feel like I use more yarn than I should. What advice do you have for me? I do this with any type of yarn.

Hi, how do you join in this Bernat bulky yarn with another one? I was looking for videos about this because its my first time using it, and I saw the knot and to burn with fire one end and glue it to the other side while still hot, so I wanted to know how you do it.
@crochet.away874 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching my video! I have a video uploaded on how to add in regular yarn if you would like to check it out, but Bernat Bulky or even other bulky yarn can be tricky. There are 2 ways that I have done it. One: is to double knot it and trim down the ends with scissors and then the second: is to add it in like the other kind of yarn (refer to my video). I prefer the first way of knotting it because it is easier. I hope this is helpful and Happy Crocheting! P.S. there are a ton of videos here on KZbin showing different ways to do it, just have to find the one that works best for YOU and the project you are making :)

I always make baby blanket in neutral colors, green, yellow, white, variegated (blue ,green,white), (pink,blue,yellow)(yellow,green,white).
@crochet.away874 жыл бұрын
It's a good idea, 2 that I made previously were for the same Mom just 2 different kids, boy and a girl. She chose the colors for the first one (boy) and then loved the colors I suggested for the second one (girl). I always talk to the people I make things for since some people haven't wanted things made for them, so I always ask now. Thanks for watching and Happy Crocheting!

I watched KZbin videos for a year to teach myself how to crochet! I had been knitting for 10 years or so and wanted to try something different. I haven't looked back since, crochet is it for me :) I honestly don't even remember how to knit! Keep practicing and watching, (not just my channel :) ) but any channels you can. How many do you skip when you move on to the next double crotchet sorry I’m a beginner
@crochet.away873 жыл бұрын
Like skip stitches? The only skipping of stitches I do is after I chain 2 and turn the work. I skip the stitch on the turning chain and start into the 2nd stitch. Otherwise, I double crochet in each stitch across. I hope that helps!
@emilyjeffords59072 жыл бұрын
Actually you don't skip any stitches after the first row. Tip: when you turn your work, go into the same stitch you just finished. Your rows will be even that way.
@naty31313 жыл бұрын
How many skeins did you use is it done by double croché only and average what size you did it need to make a bay blanket with one skein of 220 yards please help !!!!!
@emilyjeffords59072 жыл бұрын
You need more than one skein. I normally use 6-8 skeins. I make my blankets longer than the width. I'm working on a pink blanket that's wider than my twin bed, but I want it to be longer than the width, so I will use more than 8 skeins. It really depends on your preference. There is no right or wrong way.

I was wondering if anyone knows why my blanket came out in the shape of a trapezoid shorter at the top and longer at the bottom this was my first time crocheting and i wanted to gift this blanket to my new nephew
@amanda-oi5oz3 жыл бұрын
when that happens it’s because you’ve either missed a stitch somewhere while crocheting or you didn’t properly start a new row. it sucks! been there before, but you learn over time. for some beginners it helps to count the stickers out loud as you’re going through the rows to ensure you’re not missing any. then you’ll get better over time
@katiewilson47793 жыл бұрын
How many balls of yarn do you recommend for this blanket?
@crochet.away873 жыл бұрын
I believe I used about 2 and a half, it just depends on the size. That goes back to asking the people who you are making it for, if they want it for a newborn or for them to have for awhile.

@@crochet.away87I have relearned thru Utube how to crochet again.I have been following your baby blanket video. I started to knit one and got into a problem and noone here knows how to knit or crochet! So I too,am using the Bernat Baby blanket yarn. I tore out my knitting one and with your help I am going to use your DC pattern you do such nice work 👍. I started another pattern but, I tore mine out again and I will start all over! My major problem is how to hold the yarn in my left hand!! I user to know how to knit and crochet everything, but age is against me now and thanks for teaching me again!!

I don't actually have a pattern. I don't actually measure my work. I just go til it feels right. *starts chaining* So you can't actually see the stitches so you have to feel and go by how it feels.. Why does this seem so similar to how I live my life 😅😂 I don't have a plan, I don't actually know what I'm doing, but it feels right and turns out really well so .... yeah. Yup sounds about right 😂🤷🏻♀️

@catiepage91893 жыл бұрын
She said baby blanket right in the title. What else were you expecting?
@Sarah-N7093 жыл бұрын
@@catiepage9189 the size isn't the issue? You can adjust any patten to any size. I was irritated because she should have just said the entire blanket was a double crochet. There is no pattern. It's just double crochet to the size of a blanket. So when those of us are looking for a video of an actual pattern, it wastes time.
