Really great series, has inspired me to try making a cover video myself, although I'm hoping that the transcription and practising stages are optional as I didn't really bother with too much of that! Biggest pain so far is getting all the video synced. It seems fine in one place and miles out later on. Might just be my editing software not coping with that many videos.

I just watched all three in a row! Awesome series Oliver!! Love your work!!! Musescore was the biggest takeaway for me. I think I am going to play around with that a little bit. As a self-taught bedroom guitarist I've only ever read and made tabs so I must admit I am a little intimidated about the whole scoring part but I've always admired that part in particular about your videos. The presentation of the tabs looks so clean, especially compared to my silly Acousterr tabs! That 'hipster" comment resonated with me and really made me crack up! It's cool being in the minority because it tends to attract other likeminded people that have similar (or in many cases shockingly the same) music taste! I've been introduced to tons of great music from the comment sections of my videos that I otherwise would have never discovered and I always find that to be particularly rewarding! Your dedication and attention to detail is truly remarkable! Keep up the great work man!! You are such an inspiration to me and many others!!!

ayyy thanks man your words mean alot for real - yeah musescore is nicee, and you can set it up with a linked staff to just input tab and it'll write out musical notation automatically and yeah you hit the nail on the head, its hard sometimes but worth caring about the lesser cared for things :D

Hey man, these were great, seeing musescore took me back I used to use that so much. I've used ableton before but my computer died a couple weeks back, was wondering if you've used logic before? trying to decide whether to get a mac for logic or just go back to ableton again.
@oliverqiu_2 жыл бұрын
aye thanks for watching bro ! hmm damn I'm on windows so only logic experience I have is with friends setups - I know logic is kind of preferred for traditional productions recording live instruments maybe more similar to pro tools, I just love the simplicity/clean Ableton UI and its built in plugins 👍

@@oliverqiu_ Thanks man, I'm having to make loads of these decisions recently cause I'm replacing alot of my equipment. I did like ableton but i think i'll just try a friends logic before deciding.

I just finished watching all 3 videos. They are super informative. Thanks for giving us some insight, this was super interesting. Question: Did you learn how to use your DAW by yourself & are there some resources(vids,courses) that helped u get more comfortable with the things you were doing ?
@oliverqiu_2 жыл бұрын
hey thanks emal :D i don't think I ever sought out resources on their alone - i just try making stuff and if i get stuck i look up how to do it, for me this makes it feel less like studying for a class and more like making music

Hello Oliver!! I'm in love with all of your work! I was wondering, what video editor program do you use?
