Would this help tighten up younger free form locks? I have some that still have loops that haven't closed completely yet and I haven't quite figured out the crochet method yet so you think it's ok to do this to get them in a better place?

is it safe to blow dry young dreads?

Yep, as long as you're gentle with them :) I've had mine for 5 months and they're easy as to look after. I wash mine once a week, dry them in a towel and leave them wrapped up while I do something for a bit. If it's summer, I have my towel around my shoulders and let them air dry. In winter, I use my hairdryer and then leave them down so they can dry properly :)

Dude, no, that's not the point of dreadlocks and dreads don't belong to any culture as they appear in many. Even the oldest dreadlocks were found in Egypt when they dug up a mummy (I can't remember the name but it's worth looking up, it's an interesting read and their dreads are still in tact!) Anyway, dreadlocks are done aolely for inner beauty and self acceptance, going beyond appearances or stereotypes. I myself have dreads that are going onto 5 months old and as odd as it sounds, having dreads really does change you. Again it's such a personal thing and if you get them for the right reasons, doing it for yourself, you will never regret them :) Have a wonderful day :)
