I just moved to Bangkok from the USA and am having a similar experience to what you described in the first two weeks. I know i want to be here, but I am figuring out how everything works and it can be overwhelming sometimes…especially before I move into my own condo. I can’t wait to settle in and become the happiest version of myself. Thanks for your video Joyce 🙌
@bronco19976 ай бұрын
It can be overwhelming but stick with it. Thai people are so welcoming and will try to help you at every turn. This country opens up if you try to make the effort to learn the language. Thai people understand how difficult their language can be for anyone learning it but any effort you make will be rewarded 10 X’s over.

Joyce, I think 1 of the words I would use to describe you is brave! You are so brave for wanting another life for yourself and then actually just making it happen in such a short amount of time. I would love to have some of your courage. Stay cool 😎 greetings from Denmark

Joyce, first time commentator but long time follower. I am a different generation but I have also committed myself to a life change here in Thailand. Many people who do this and leave the comfort of their home environment, need to find a purpose in their new life. I myself am still struggling with this. You are an inspiration to many of us who enjoy your insightful videos. It can’t be easy but you have a presence that is compelling. My recommendation for anyone wanting to live here is to try to have a purpose or direction. Take your time but try to make the effort to add to the community in which you live, it will be so much more rewarding.

Very interesting, I have been living here in Bangkok for almost 10 years and the longer I stay the more I appreciate and the more I'm in love with Thailand. The first reason is that people live in peace and harmony. Second reason for me, which is a big one and I discovered this only after around 4 years living in Bangkok, is that I've found a perfect area, bought a house in Suan Luang area, and I have everything around me, very nice neighborhood (not hectic unlike Sukhumvit, but not too suburban), the best restaurants and food just a couple of minutes away not expensive just delicious everyday food, beautiful parks nearby, it's 15 minutes from Thonglor area and my workplace, there are nice malls around. So yeah after 10 years, life gets better here. I hope you'll keep discovering and keep good positive people around you, best of luck!

Hi Joyce, never really been a commentor but just want to say that you’re so so brave in taking the first step and I admire your courage. I used to dream of working and moving to Bangkok as well but was too afraid of failure and that held me back from a lot of potential. Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing more of your vids! If possible, would really love to get to know you any chance I visit Bangkok! You’re a really fun person to hang out with, seeing how people in your vids always open up and laughing with you. Lots of love ❤️ ❤

Hey Joyce. Big fan here of you, Mike, Paul lee, etc. I used to be a traveler in 2019, but stopped during covid. During covid my mother passed away 2 months before my wedding. I was so depressed I couldn't do anything different than my normal job. Now, two years later since she died, after watching all you guys ( the bangkok KZbinrs) I feel so hyped and excited to start travel vlogging and I'll be landing in Thailand at the end of April with my wife. We are going to be exploring Asia for three months. I just started my socials now, and just like you I'm starting at zero but amazed and inspired at the amount of growth you have had. Hope to meet you all someday as you all seem really cool and down to Earth. -Kind Regards From Josh & Tiff 🇿🇦

Wow all this from watching a BL series. I'm not secure enough to watch one myself 55. My interest in Thailand started in the beginning of the pandemic before all this passport bro stuff. I just wanted to have a random conversation with a random person in a random land. We chatted for a year & i finally visited. I was hooked after that. Your journey is my inspiration now.

the way i’ve been living in bangkok for over a decade (my family moved here when i was young) and i think you’ve been to more places than i have been to in the city already. 😭the pandemic completely destroyed my desire to go out but i’m glad you find the city enjoyable. i wholeheartedly agree with the bit where you say bangkok isn’t somewhere you travel alone. i mean, my life is here. all my friends are here and i went to high school and college here so you’d think that i wouldn’t feel lonely or out of place when i go out but i still do, once in a while and i’m thai!

Joyce, I find you pretty knowledgable (weise) for such a young person. You have that knowledge that only very lonely people get. Because it takes a lot of time to not only articulate what you feel but also find a solution. You also have that generosity that lonely people have, you struggle to know what you know but you give it for free because you dont want people struggling like you have and because eventhough you are friend with the solitude, you love people. I am well impressed.❤
