This is not the only way to mix dyes. This is just the formula I use. It is not right or wrong. It is just how I go about it.

Hey! I've been mixing my dyes inside their own dye bottles and shaking them and I noticed they don't dissolve fully and occasionally dye particles get stuck in the spout. I'll try this method next, Thanks a lot :)

Yeah, if you get yourself a magnetic Stirrers, you shouldn't have that problem as often. Good luck and let me know how ya make out

hey MARK. IVE BEN A HUGE fan on FB and Instagram and Etsy for a few years. Every piece is Art. im happy to see the videos here on You Tube and thank you for sharing. I have a problem with Soda Ash and prepping my blanks. ... im highly allergic to the soda ash. even with long sleeves and gloves i get . well lets just say not pretty. and so. ive tried so many ways of using the SA because once soaked i cant handle it to fold. sometimes i just put layers of dry SA on a folded piece then spray with water till saturated . then i wait a few days for it to dry. sometimes if i use liquid ill mix the SA into the bottles .. If i ice dye ill put the SA dry on top of the folded piece then spray and let it dry. then another layer of SA , dry soda ash. then a layer of dye. then ice then more SA on top of the ice. I don't have great results. my colors look faded. i dont sell so maybe its not t important i just give away all my tie dyes. or use them myself. but id like to see a video about prepping the blanks.

I honestly just prewash all my blanks 4 times...3 with dawn and soda ash and 1 with nothing and then fold them. I use the pariah method for liquid dying and ice dying i sprinkle it on as the ice is melting. If you're using soda ash, I'd guess your using to much ice...but its hard to say with seeing you do it....start with little ice...you can always add more🙏

Why superclear instead of sodium alginate?

From where I'm standing its easier to work with and easier to achieve full saturation. But full disclosure, I only used it a couple of times before I found superclear

I mixed some fabric dye with water and have an ounce of 5 brilliant colors left. Is it possible to use chemical water w/urea, add ludigol and super clear and use so as not to waste? Dyes are not from dry.

It would depend on how long ago you mixed the dyes. Typically dyes only stay good for about 5-7 days once they have been mixed with water.

Thanks for the video once again. I use immersion blender to mix mine. Had a magnetic stirrer for making dabs but it died 😂 need to get some for dyes sometime. I have ludigol but only used it once. As for a tutorial I would like to see if the cosmic egg 😂 I know ya told me roll it but not sure on how 😂. Done 2 tries one each way and they turned nothing like a cosmic egg. So im missing something somewhere.

I appreciate the love and the feedback. Unfortunately because there was so much controversy regarding that recently, i feel like the right thing to do is hold out on the cosmic egg for now. I will eventually make one, but for now, i can try helping you get closer...Are you tying the rolled piece into sections?

@@PsychedelicSerenity I rolled it upwards vertically then wrap sinew around it a half to full inch sections. Then dyed in different shades of blue and gray. The other I tried horizontally rolling it then bent it and tied it same way as the first and dyed the same. Also I respect that, I have only seen a little about the drama.

@@PsychedelicSerenity thinking about it for 3 days the person who is getting mad they aren't getting credit needs to chill because that's the thing about tie-dye, designs are shared all the time without giving original creator credit. What does the person want for every tie dye artist to credit everyone who has done the designs before us? 🤣🤣. Also I have been trying to study pics that I can find on the cosmic egg. Maybe I'm just finishing it wrong after rolling it. I'm racking my brain trying to figure it out. Gonna try again tomorrow.

@ew1a100 I agree. I pay gratitude into the community by kicking old schoolers shirts and taps when I run into them @ shows and hook the little super excited kids up. When it comes down to it -like guitar tone- the magic comes right through the fingers from the soul. Nobody's copying homeboy's soul.

@@PsychedelicSerenity know I get the design then the next morning someone basically confirmed in a way that my thoughts the night before was pretty damn close. Was gonna try again today but just gonna give my back 1 more day of rest. I see where I went wrong with first 2. I was way off with those 🤣🤣

No caselene oil? Also I've been told by the folks from grateful dyes that ludigol doesn't work and I was told not to buy it.

No calsolene oil for me. Again this isn't an exact formula, this is just how I go about things. I invite you to play with it. What benefits do you see from Calsolene oil? Maybe I need to start using it?
