Yes, I've noticed this effect too...I named it 'Gavitis', seems to be very contagious and you catch it from the shortest of exposures! Thomas Heaton, Adam Gibbs, Nick Page have all contacted it already.

To avoid mosquito bites, you should use „Anti-Brumm“, a very good mosquito repellant. I used it during hikes in Newfoundland and it worked excellent.

I was just at Smith Rock for the first time and got some awesome photos, even in the middle of the day! A magnificent place...no wonder photographers love to spend time there. The colors are absolutely brilliant!

I attended a Night Sky Photography workshop a couple of weeks ago and got some good images. We did some light painting on the rocks and trees. I really enjoyed it. Nothing like seeing all those stars in person. It's amazing. Did you really expect the mosquitoes to leave you alone? It's a good thing you put your pants on! Next time use some bug spray.... Aunt Grumpy.

Great video! Just a quick thought though. Did you know that bananas are used as bait for mosquitos? They love fruit and sweat so you really need to not sweat when you're out and make someone else eat fruit (oops I mean offer someone else some fruit) so they are attracted away from you :D

Ah man! I was there in June for the new moon and had the same issues. By the time it was dark the Milky Way was past the lodge, cars kept driving by, and the mosquito were like small blood sucking bats that covered the air every few inches. It was still worth it!
