That is a question I came on here to ask you :). This last year was my first year as a homeschooling mom. I kept EVERYTHING. I have 3 binders, per kid, full!! It’s too much to store. I’m not sure what to keep, though. Any advice on what you keep?

@@hannahyoung3973 tests, reports they’ve worked hard on, and a sampling of work from begging, middle, and end of year. I also keep any artwork they love or that I love.

@@mandy-maltz What assessments and testing do you use? Does your curriculum have the testing?

I buy a four inch binder. I have the declaration of intent form, attendance, description of each course, lessons and grades, syllabus, report card, and tests. I file as we go during the school year. Each section is separated by different color tabs.

How often do you give assessments to your kids? Do you have a video on this?

This is the most overwhelming part of the school year for me. We are in a state that requires reporting, so our portfolios are turned in to the state homeschool support group for a certified teacher review (the provide this as a service so we can submit a letter of completion to the state with our notices of intent instead of doing a state test). I always feel like such a failure doing our portfolios because they never feel like we did enough and having to fill in all the forms and collect all the pieces is exhausting.
