I love a good medicine cabinet orgamization. I think it is great that you focus more on function over aesthetics. I like an aesthetic cabinet, but if it is not functional, it is pointless. I always love your energy and authenticity. 😊

I recently did a deep clean of my bathroom and toiletries. I found an anti-nausea medication that was prescribed for me when I came home from graduate school with a stomach bug. In 1991.

As you mentioned, most tablet/capsule/powder medicines are made to be stored in a cool dry space. Often used bathrooms can be more humid which can lead to medicines degrading more quickly. My pharmacist suggested keeping some dehumidifying packs in with your medications in a sealed box to ensure they remain in good condition. Then they can stay in the bathroom just fine. Edited for typos!

My apartment had a medicine cabinet, but my house does not. I have been so lost without it honestly. We are redoing our bathroom over the summer and I am making sure we get a medicine cabinet in there. I'm sure it isn't the oldest one lurking in my stuff, but my caladryl is a year expired. Still works like a charm though so I don't want to waste it!

The package will tell you when it expires, but you have to remember when you opened the container. When I open something, I write on the container with a black sharpie the date it was opened.

We don’t have medicine cabinets at our new house but I always love to see organization ideas that I can use in other ways! I was quite ruthless on tossing old products before we moved last summer but I still have some eyeshadow that I’ve kept for over ten yrs. I don’t use it because it’s too old but it was my absolute favorite and it was discontinued. I’ve been wanting to find a dupe or hoping it comes back, and I refer to it every so often when I see something similar. Realizing now how long I’ve been holding onto it!! 🤣

Growing up, we kept medicine in a kitchen. It was on the bottom shelf in a cabinet far from the stove and refrigerator (heat sources). Aspirin/Ibuprofen bottles and any vitamins we were using. I continued the practice when my kids were growing up.

I had those exact cabinets (with the soft close) and handles in the first condo I owned. I remodeled it and installed those cabinets--they have full plywood boxes like yours--and they're really nice and built to last a long time.

I love cleaning the medicine cabinet out! I do keep my medicine in the cabinet, it is what it is. In our DINK household, we don't close the bathroom door for showers anyway because the fan doesn't work in our rental. I keep a first aid kit in the kitchen for bandages and related items for burns and cuts, but finding a home for the OTC pills and liquids is rough. Where would be the best place to keep medications? That's an interesting thing to think about. I do keep my makeup in a case in the bedroom to protect it from the humidity, but it makes sense there because thats where I put it on 😊
@deniseatthelake7 ай бұрын
We keep our OTC meds/first aid in the powder room cabinet, not as much humidity; our vitamins supplements and rx meds are in a cool dry kitchen cabinet on a lazy susan rounder.

I love a clean med cabinet! It’s time to go through mine. As I like to do this once a month when I clean my makeup brushes, I rarely have anything too old! I keep makeup in my cabinet, and I know that the conditions are not ideal, yet it works for me! Probably the oldest thing is my mascara which I use sparingly and it hurts to throw away a $20 tube when it’s still mostly full!

My medicine cabinet is very well organized. I like to group things together like all my teeth stuff, hair stuff, face stuff and body stuff. I keep medications elsewhere. I also have a drawer that holds mostly big hair stuff and I do have a small train case, that is not kept in the bathroom, for makeup and makeup removers. It's a small cabinet but my husband and I have two, so we have our own. I get the drawer though, he doesn't have that. LOL I'm a meticulously organized person, but that doesn't stop me from making a mess sometimes. It's necessary for creativity.

I am keeping my everyday medications in a metal box that can be locked if needed , in the dining room next to my place at the table, since that is where I am taking them after eating breakfast and/or dinner. There are decorative metal storage boxes that may be locking with a key or having a hasp for a small padlock, suitable for any decor if you look . I am thinking that you may even use a nostalgic old lunchbox in a kitchen, some did have a hasp on them. Thank you for sharing your organizing skills ❣️ Take Care, Stay Safe And Healthy 🐱🖖✌️☮️🌈

We have a tri-view medicine cabinet. Right side for me, left side for husband and middle is for both of us. I have mostly skincare and some hair products on my side. Thank you for interesting and positive videos. Binge watching it from time to time. My question is to keep and use or to throw away lotions and serums and creams I bought organic from Germany in 2020 when the "thing" started. They are all unopened, some are sealed some tubes not. Bought a lot to get a free delivery when spent over 200e. What a silly reason. Havent used a half of it yet. Now a dilemma to use or to toss??😂 Please advice.

I notice that the ikea medicine cabinet comes with euro hinges. They might be adjustable. Maybe have your husband look at them and see if there is an adjustment screw he can tighten to prevent the door wanting to close. You have face frame hinges down below your sink on the doors there and those can be adjusted to change the gap. So if those ikea hinges have a screw he might be able to tighten it. Sorry for rambling on here, thanks again and take care.

I have some Opium body lotion from 2016 - it is sentimental tho 😹 I use a marker to write the date the product will expire on the container (If there isn't an expiry date I write the date it was opened) - as I usually can't remember when I bought something.
