Watching you pack is like therapy to me. You have made resizing boxes much easier. I like using the tape dispenser too like you have but I’ve not tried the 3 inch tape yet though. But maybe I will in the future.

I watched you all for a couple years now and even purchased a few things from you all. I’m not a perfect packer by any means. But you pack pretty close to how I would pack. I do have a collection of repurposed boxes from orders that I received and brand new boxes. But I think that it is more of a personal preference. But like your case if I was running more of a business I’d probably be buying more new stock than repurposing boxes or void fill.

I greatly appreciate your packing videos. I have learned a lot and gained confidence in shipping since watching. As for boxes ....... I buy from Zoro thanks to you and love them. When I first started reselling last year and trying to be thrifty...... I got used boxes from people and stores UNTIL ONE DAY I go to get boxes out of my car and a gross amount of BUGS came running out of them. Straight to the dumpster they went and nothing came out of my car until after fumigating my car. NEVER AGAIN 🤮😱

Hey. Lonnie. That project pack of the glasses was truly a thing of beauty. I must admit, when you first approached the pack I said to myself, 'just wrap them all individually well, then put them in an appropriate size box and they will be fine', but as you proceeded it really came along nicely. it's great that you had those 4 by 4 by 8 boxes (and getting them on the cheap was a bonus) Actually, although I was critical at first I probably would have ended up doing exactly the same thing. Nice job, One thing that I do differently, however, is that whenever I build a box, particularly if the dimensions are going to be resized, I will hide the flap that has the dimensions on it. Too many times the shipping service will read what's on the box and assume that that's the correct size. And charge accordingly. Keep up the good work. Mike from NY PS. Im waiting for you to switch out the plastic screw on the resizer with the metal unibody one. It plays so much better and, as I had previously mentioned, you have the added benefit of getting a closer fit on the resizing guide. Have a great day, say hey to Candice for me.

To help prevent the boxes from ripping when putting two of the same size boxes together I always take the knife body or something hard and hit the edge of inside box to make it not so sharp. I almost never have one rip after doing so.

Hi Lonnie, I've been going back and watching your packing videos and have a tip that has helped me with taping the resized boxes. Where you sometimes have those small areas of box that is taped but you can see the item inside I always keep a couple of the tan carton tapes on hand. I still use the clear and then wack the tan over it. I am enjoying the videos and have gotten some great ideas from you. Thanks! Tape, tape and more tape!

Yeah, resizing the box was just smart business, ONE it takes wayy less packing material but most of all, it makes the box much stronger. I usually purposely find a box I can cut down for books so I can have that extra protection as well as and overlap in carboard for the customer to not cut the merchandise.

Hey Lonnie, It looked like the 4x4x8 boxes have a pre-fold inside the box to lower the height of the box so you do not have to score and cut them. Do They? Thanks.

As you usually say, presentation seems to matter. Taking care to pack securely in clean fresh supplies is good for your business and brings in repeat buyers. The causal seller can get away with using and recycling, trashed boxes, (fyi you cant send boxes with food names on them), used grocery bags (yuk) and newspaper (which stains),…. People appreciate that you care enough for their purchase to take the time and thought regarding their item arriving safe and clean as advertised. That’s why you are successful and he is probably losing business to those like you. You do you and bid that person adieu !

@@susanb3530 i really do think using used boxes is fine, I’m not against it at all as long as they are clean and presentable. I’d just rather not hunt them down and not try to store a mish mash of sizes. It gives me a headache thinking about it. If I was selling a few items a week I would feel differently. Some people get very mad when they see others using new boxes, like to an irrational level. Thanks so much for watching Susan!

Wow Lonnie if you had to run all over your city to find boxes instead of buying them, you'd spend so much time and gas it wouldn't be worth doing that. Plus I've seen you reuse boxes if you can from your buys. As for using scissors instead of your box cutter, that would be harder and waste time too. I enjoy all your videos and look forward to them😊.

I almost always use new boxes. Most things for me (in Canada) go out dimensional weight, so it's very important for me to have the sizes I need. The cost difference can be significant. Many boxes, especially smaller sizes, would be nearly impossible to source used anyway. Regardless, lots of other issues can come up using used boxes. For example, maybe you're sending an item in a box branded by a company that sells pet related products. That could cause someone a problem if they live somewhere that doesn't allow pets. Maybe someone is buying an item for a birthday and the person thinks they're getting the item shown on the box and are disappointed when they receive the item you packed inside instead. Branding on the outside of the box could also make an item more attractive to porch pirates or even dishonest workers employed by a carrier. It just doesn't seem worth it to me.

Lonnie.. You are doing it all wrong. You could have made a shed out of used washer and dryer boxes. Cut them with scissors and tape together. Could have saved thousands. 😅

Another comment, sir. (I sent the first comment before I watched the rest of the video), and again, I would like to say a thing of beauty with the Batman Cookie Jar Project Pack. And another suggestion. Before you slip the second box over the first, tape up the open flaps of the first one ( like you did previously), and try to squeeze it so it's a smaller size before you slip over the second box. And here's the key suggestion. Before you slip over the second box, tape around the second box where it could possibly tear, thus preventing that from happening. But nonetheless, you did great without doing any of that. And I loved your enthusiasm and the self "patting yourself on the back" as the pack progressed. It's comforting to know that I am not the only one who does that, LOL Mike from New York (once again)

Exactly. There is always a “cheaper” way to do something, but time is money. To run around, collect boxes, break them down, store them, measure them so you know what the heck you have….or I can point and click, and have them neatly stacked at my door in a day or two, while I make money processing my items and getting them listed 🤔.

Reusing a box from the grocery store isn't professional. It would make me wonder how the product I purchased was stored or taken care of while in storage. If the customer is paying for shipping and handling, is the seller making a profit in packaging?
