Ahh thank you so much Dorie, I’m not sure I would be so fearless with the heat set but I do believe they can be removed before you set them so give it a go if you go wrong you can remove the mistake before you set the paint - you can do this Dorie I have seen your work 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Hi Jay, thank you so much for this video. I really love how you paint your babies. I'm really enjoying painting reborns, I was finishing one while watching. I'm not very good at eyebrows & I can't seem to find any eyelashes that I like. I've done three reborns now & none of them have eyelashes or eyebrows. I just can't seem to get the eyebrows right. Yes they use heat set paints that need to be baked - I am using air dry paints - acrylic 🥰🥰

I bought my mum a fakey Jospeh 3 months (she named him Big Tod lol) that we really want to add a bit of colour to but we didn't know how to go about it! Did you apply any primer or seal all the paint at the end? or does air dry paint not need a base or sealing at all? Thank you Jay for sharing this with is! ❤️ 😘

I didn’t personally use a primer or a sealer but I do use the acrylic binder in with the paint - you could prime the vinyl with pod podge and also use it to seal the paint too - I would water it down and apply the same was as the colour washes - hope that helps - I used mod podge to seal Emily and she has a few flaky patches - that’s why I don’t personally use it - hope that helps 🥰🥰

You did not use a Matte varnish to start with? to get the color stick to the vinyl?

Hi i do generally use a varnish first but to be honest ie not had any problems and I do only do the dolls for myself - I do add an acrylic binder to the paint too - as I say so far I haven’t had any problems at all 😊😊
