How you doing Mark! My name is Stephen, Congratulations on passing your Journeyman exam! I pray that Im able to pass mine on my first attempt. Just wanted to say I really enjoy your channel Brother keep inspiring! I saw you doing computer work & in the field work how does that work if you don’t mind me asking.. Thanks again Brother!🙏🏽👍🏽

@TheApprenticeToJourneyman Stephen, thanks a lot for the kind words! I just got super lucky to be honest. My company had a need for someone to run the Robotic Total Station for our jobs for layout purposes. Which required me to learn to use AutoCAD. That led me into a part-time office, part-time field work position. Then the opportunity opened up to work full time in the office, doing layout work with the total Station out in the field, and the other time I have is spent doing electrical design. I only have about 3 years of field experience under my belt though... and I'm kind of thinking about going back out into the field..

Great to hear you passed im on my journey to pass mine can you send me what you studied for study tests i would appreciated

Thanks Ben, the practice tests I got were on an onine portal that one of my teachers gave me access to. They were timed simulation of the 3 hour test. I don't have any way of sharing that with you, unfortunately. I would ask your teacher or teachers in whatever apprenticeship program you're in if they have some of their own!

@Sparky_MarkАй бұрын
It was a total of 52 questions. Dont remember how many were OESC (oregon code) questions... but during practice, I checked every question up against the OESC. Hope this helps

I failed a few hours ago. I was using the 2020 NEC. I was having a hard time finding answers and others I found fairly easy. Going to go again.

The underground coal mines hand out MSHA Electrical Cards to mechanics, and they tell them it's equivalent to a Journeyman Card. What do you think? Nobody recognizes the MSHA Card, and they get upset. They try to use it to get into electrician positions.
@Sparky_Mark29 күн бұрын
I don't know much about that, but maybe it's the equivalent to a journeyman card inside of a mine. If you just get a license handed to you without proving through an exam that you understand the national electrical codebook, then yeah, I wouldn't recognize that MSHA card either. But again, I don't know much about that.

@Sparky_Mark yea, they sit through a couple of classes on video, then test. No years of training, no experience required.
