Wish I could give this more that one like! I am very much of a long term mindset too and I think I must bore people to death with that on my channel! Most of my investing is done through vanguard's products but I also have a trading 212 account where I research and pick my own stocks and shares also with a long term view.

Great video. Like you say, everyone has a different taste. I am only really trying to build my plan at the minute since I’ve just started a few weeks ago (plan to share that on here at some stage too). I can relate to the spouse comments - my wife is the same, only I get the ‘eye roll’ every time I start talking finance, and I can’t imagine her ever jumping into investing!🤦🏻♂️😂 maybe over time. 👍

Great video, thanks! How do you decide when is best to top up your investments in funds or individual stocks. I'm relatively new to investing and have S&P500 and wide spread of individual stocks in small proportions. I'm never sure whether to top up everything by a little each month or do a lump into my funds or decide on certain stocks that month. Any advice you can offer??

I am a seriously lazy investor. I did my original research on geographical segments picked one of each and mostly stayed with the same investments although I did add a LS for a few bonds but always up for finding out about new funds. I do not have the time or inclination to invest in individual shares though I would never rule it out should I have more time in the future. I tick accumulation rather than divi.

I love your videos so great at making finances understandable to all! It gave me the confidence to start investing and budgeting better. Can you do one on buying "commodities" at I have found it really confusing to get clear information on that, and yet often people say "include some commodities in your portfolio" is that for example I shares gold etc or trying to buy grains or cocoa (in an etf? or whatever a future is?) ?! or even invest in "long volatility" specifically what would that be?! Thanks just a thought!

@TopRant4 жыл бұрын
Richard Creasey Jennifer answers that question in this video 😊 but to answer your question, it may indicate that the stock is undervalued, Investors can often buy undervalued stock at a discount and then profit when the price of that stock climbs.

I'm going to make my first investment of £40k with HSBC's Global Investment Centre, so I can retain the premier account. Would you recommend the HSBC Global Strategy Fund/Dynamic fund (Multi-asset fund)? Should I invest it all or split over several other funds? Total charge per year is 0.46% (0.25% platform and 0.21% product managing fee).
@TheRealArjun2064 жыл бұрын
That is a very high charge - don’t ever put all your eggs in one basket. The best way to start out whilst investing is Vanguard like Kimberley suggests, you may want to look at their life strategy or ETFs.. they have the lowest charges and you get coverage... As above - please do your own research as I am not a financial adviser
@thaiproud2b124 жыл бұрын
I agree, although it is actively managed so not quite sure. Other platforms come up similarly priced
