Nice job indeed. Although the neck pickup, or neck and middle pickup, might have better captured the tone. There's a "smokier" tone on the record -- not as bright and snappy. Again, nice job. You definitely got that Mark Knopfler "clucking chickin' pickin"" technique down cold. That's tricky as hell! It's fun watching you sus out MK's style so convincingly.

I think these pickups are original Mexican strat pickups. Sounds ok to me.👍🏼

You can't get that snap or syncopation with a pick.
