Just picked up the Pack 12' off craigslist for $150 with 2 paddles. Love that boat. I bought a 250cm kayak paddle and use. This little boat moves along nicely. I'll never go back to a single paddle.

@@AdirondackAdventures that's what I was thinking! I wouldn't take $1000 for mine! Literally would take $2500 for a kevlar layup to get another 33lb canoe to do what my OT pack can.

Great idea! Instead of the multiple bungee cords, I used two c-clamps to attach the yoke directly to the gunnels. Much more stable

Thanks, John! I toyed with a C clamp design myself but went with my current design to avoid potential damage to the gunwales. My current setup is very stable, comfortable and I have no doubt that I'll damage my boat during some of the long carries that are necessary here in the Adirondacks.

Nice job! Simple, functional, well thought out. I paddle a 10' 6" Hornbeck and bought a yoke from them, but I like yours better. Bungees can be used for other purposes too, which is handy, thumbs up!

Nice idea been struggling with a Old Town Sportsman Discovery 119 Solo Canoe trying to figure out how I am going to put a yoke on that thing. because of the arm rails. I wish I could have found a Pact or a Next but you can't buy what you can't find. Was thinking a ratchet strap instead but maybe bungy strap is better.

Try a ratchet strap, less fuse.

Thanks for watching, Jeffrey! I’m not familar with the Solo Sportman. I love my OT Pack but I’ve contemplated acquiring some other boats in the future. I love the Swift Prospector 14 and Hornbeck Canoes out of Olmsteadville, NY make some really cool boats.

Not to be insulting, but the solo sportsman is the old towne replacement for the pack boat but with some pretty nice std features I too “was” looking at the swift line, but I can’t justify spending $3000+ for a canoe that is virtually as durable as an egg shell

@@jeffreyberube7812 the sportsman looks like a nice boat as well, though its worth noting that it weighs in at 56lbs compared to the 33lbs of the pack. That being said, they don't make the pack anymore, however you can still find them around on the used market.
