I love the use of the river rocks, you don't have to worry about repotting for a long time and it doesn't stay soggy like bark

You are so correct Nicole. In one of my previous videos, I placed 3 vandas in a large pot without removing them from their original pot. All i did was to add more river stones and charcoal to the arrangement. Glad you enjoyed my video🤗

Thank you, wow that's so easy. I don't river rocks near me however we have mountain gravel that's being used for construction I think that will work. Do I need to put bleach to wash the stones? Should I mix it with coco chips and charcoal?
@preciousbloomsja2 жыл бұрын
Hi Phen thank you so much for tuning in. I do believe it's quite okay to use the mountain gravel as long as it's small in size. I normally use plain water to wash the gravel; and I do use charcoal sometimes with the gravel. Should be okay to use coco chips too😊👍.

Thanks for the video. It was very informative and simple. I am going to repot my Vandas this weekend using river rocks and cinnamon. My question when do you water after potting?fertilizing? Many thanks and blessings for your lesson.
@preciousbloomsja3 жыл бұрын
Hi Dott, delighted that you found my video informative😇. I started fertilizing approximately 2-1/2 months after potting the vandas. There's a video ("how i train my vandas to grow in full sunlight") giving an update on the vandas and how i gave them their first dose of fertilizer. You can begin watering them the following day (depending on the climate where you live) after potting, to start maintaining those green and healthy roots. Thanks again for watching, cheers and i wish you every success with repotting your vandas.

Great vid again! Two questions.....1) Do you wash the gravel with just plain water? and 2) What did you say you soak the vanda in before potting? hydrogen peroxide and ---?
@preciousbloomsja3 жыл бұрын
Hi Barbara, sorry for the late response. Yes i use plain water to wash the gravel, however, you can add some bleach to the water. Growphite is what i use with the hydrogen peroxide to soak the vandas before potting. Thanks again for watching and happy growing from Precious Blooms🤗☺

How do u prepare your wonderful gardens for hurricane season. Love your program
@preciousbloomsja3 жыл бұрын
Hey Alan, the last hurricane we had was many years ago when I had just a few plants and so I brought them inside the house. If a hurricane should threaten us now, I definitely would not be able to bring them inside, so I think the best thing to do would be to secure them together at an area outside that I assume would be safe spot, and hope for the best. Thank you so much for watching 😊

As always another very informative video. How do you keep the plastic pots from blowing over during a rain storm.? Can you place that pot into a clay pit?
@preciousbloomsja3 жыл бұрын
Hi Jo, thanks for tuning in to my channel. Glad you found it informative. The gravel adds weight to the plastic pot so it willl not topple over during heavy rains. Yes you can place the plastic pot into a clay pot if you so desire. Thanks again for watching, cheers and God bless.
