How I Prepare a Fruiting Bag

Hello Internet!
In this video we will go over the bag fruiting method, also known as BAG TEK.
This has become one of my favorite ways to fruit due to the low maintenance and space efficiency.
Please note that there is no better method to fruiting, only what works best for you.
In this video I am using the following materials:
-0.5 Micron Extra Large Bag
-70% Iso
-Premixed CVG substrate
-Colonized grain bag
-Scissors
-Kitchen Scale

I love this "fruit in the bag technique", could you elaborate more on this plz, do you change temp in room or lighting? And most important is there a reason for the shallow amount of substrate? is it to discourage side pinning?

No that's not for side pinning you put elastic bands around it to minimize side pinning it's really all up to you how much sub you want to use. If you're using alot of grain you would want to use more sub obviously and depending on the size of the bag.

​@headonswivel7569 You should be able to get 3 - 4 flushes. The rubber band(s) also solves that. It applies pressure all around the substrate so when it does shrink, the rubber band is there to keep things perfectly snugg and relatively airtight.

When is it a good time to introduce fruiting conditions, does the substrate have to be 100% colonized, some folks introduce fruiting conditions from the get go.

I’ve been doing dubtubs but I’m getting low on space and really wanna try the bagtek. Do you have to use .2 or .5 filters ? Or does it matter ?

Yes you do, as you see him do and explain in the video.

You do not need to sterilize the inside of the bag. This step of the mushroom growing process does not need to be sterile. So long as you don't live in a filthy home with mold spores flying around everywhere, you can do this step at your kitchen table out in the open air.

I use jars first to grow the spawn. Then transfer to a grow bag with cvg. Just a tip. Ziplock now has perforated bags for vegetables. Its great for cheap grow bags.

You can use a third of that grain. Also you have that beautiful flow hood fill the bag with sterilized air and seal before you mix your grain in and flip your gussets out and you will only have to seal once
