I honestly wish y’all would watch me wrap my hair and enjoy it! Lmao I’m a Black woman who watched her mother wrap her hair but also went to the Dominicans for blow outs. My great grandma mother was also Dominican. Wrapping hair is a Black technique. Newsflash, Dominicans are apart of the African Diaspora (more than 40% of slaves went to Latin/South America) therefore, a large sum of Dominicans are of African descent. Open a book, in sure you all can find access to this information. If you have something unnecessary to say please keep it cause IRDAGF😘

@@serenaadryen9527 Ethnicity: the fact or state of belonging to a social group that has a common national or cultural tradition. Race: a grouping of humans based on shared physical or social qualities into categories generally viewed as distinct by society. Black: people from the African diaspora/negroids(relating to the division of humankind represented by the indigenous peoples of central and southern Africa.) Due to the translatlantic slave trade Black people and their practices/traditions can be found in Africa, the Caribbean, American, South America, etc. What does this mean? that we share common practices and traditions that have stood the test of time. So BLACK women everywhere wrap their damn hair!

South African women grow up doing this. We call it 'swirling' and we use old pantyhose (we call it a stocking but it's the 'panty'part of the pantyhose) to keep it in place. You can even twist it tighter if you like. Some do it without hairpins and just place the stocking on the head after swirling. Twisting the stocking makes the swirl tighter and hokdxevetyyhing together. Normally sleep in the style to keep it sleek.

If you don’t like the pin dents: I usually comb my hair around in a circle and hold it with my hands without any pins. Or ask someone else to hold it but I can manage to do it myself. Then you fold your scarf in a triangle and lay it on your head. Cross cross the pieces in the back once and then spinbthe scarf in a circle motion around your in the direction you combed it so tbat it smoothes it out and compacts the hair then tie the scarf down and you’re good!

@@omg703 How are you able to do it without the pins?!? All my hair will fall back down if I don't secure them in place with pins
@omg7033 жыл бұрын
@@sarakay1869 you should have some sort of bend to the hair (kinda like she has) for your hair to grab onto. The only time I EVER have to put pins in my hair is if my hair was just clipped bluntly or if my hair was just blow dried out. Other than that, your hair should have enough moisture and some sort of bend/curl to wrap without pins. And my hair is slightly longer than arm pit length.

Wrapping hair makes straight hair last so much longer. I wrap my hair as well but I do it a little differently . How she has her hair around the 4:21 Mark is how I actually start my wrap and I start going counter clockwise and I don’t add bobby-pins because I don’t like the mark they leave... the first two days are the hardest when wrapping freshly straighten hair but by the 3/4 day your hair will literally be falling in place. I also add a wrapping Cap and then a scarf.

Yeah I do hair from being Black and growing up with Puerto Ricans. Looks cool. However some people have wavy hair. In Cali if it's not wrapped it is still cool. Kind of taught me how to do my hair without perms and I had that fresh cut a few years back and I guess I missed it so much I just left it alone. But cool. I use to cry when my hair grew but the older you get I guess you just don't care. Just learned to embrace the curls and love others and not criticize. I just wish people stop criticizing me because it would not stay short and kept growing. Seriously it is best to stay with your culture because some people don't understand hair is in your natural DNA. Ok God bless. I wish life was so different. Good start. I am glad I cut mines off years ago. It did eventually grow back. I just try not advise people that sometimes your Native American has a lot to do with that too. I learned to do facials too and not let hair just rule my life. God bless.
