Hi Lisa, this video is inspiring! I admire your self-awareness, your mindset and your understanding of what is realistic and what isn't. Almost everything you said about motivation, mindset and self reminders apply to so many things in life, and I think it's amazing you have this way of thinking at such a young age. Good luck on your ice skating journey, enjoy every moment!

I’m also 14, and I must say you shared this so maturely! My biggest issue is to not beat myself up/get frustrated quickly (I taught myself and ended up rotating the wrong way and it’s frustrating re-learning jumps + spins on my other leg), and probably social anxiety! I really want a coach but I’ve held off months being to shy to email them, and talk to people at my rink. You’re my new inspiration, I wish you well on the rest of your skating journey! 🫶

I loved this video! This is super inspiring because I started skating october 2023 (at a similar age) so I hope that in a year I can be as good as you! I have a few questions: how often do you go to the rink per week (how many days + hours)? how long after starting skating was your first competition? I am hoping to compete but I am not sure if it is too soon. your advice was really good (just subscribed!) and I look forward to watching more videos from you! :)

Hiii😊🫶🏻 I'm soo glad you found this video helpful, it means so much to me 🥰 I wish you the best luck on your skating journey!! But don't compare yourself to others 😊 My training hours: When I first started in October I went 1 day 1h/week (+ 2-3 hours on the weekend) Around the middle of November I went 2 days 2,5h/week (also 2-3 hours on the weekend) After February to April I went 2-3 days 2,5-4h/week (and still on the weekend) :) All hours stated above with a coach except for the weekends. All this time I had 30-60 minutes off ice per week with a coach. At the moment I'm going 4 days 5,5h/week That's just official training hours with a coach. I'm at the rink 7-9+ hours a week. Off ice 75 minutes per week with a coach + ~50 minutes by myself (warm up). All these training informations apply to just me, it doesn't mean that anybody is going to do as well with the schedule as I am and I have many really great progressing friends who don't skate as much as I do. 🫶🏻 This is not for you to compare yourself just for informational purposes. I don't know whether you were thinking about it, but just because you might skate as much as I do or less or more, you will probably make completely different progress. You might be better than me in a year, who knows 🙈 And even if you aren't better than me in a year, that's completely okay. It's not a race, you might lose all your fun in this sport if you start comparing yourself to others, really. The memories are what counts and all the fun, love and passion you bring into skating (I have to remind myself of that too, everyone should 💗). I skated my first competition a little under 6 months after starting! Just compete when you feel ready (!!!!) and when you're aware of the fees where you live (it's expensive 🫣). And thank you for all the feedback that's so sweet of youuu ☀️💗

I started learning figure skating at the age of 11 and I’ve been continuing it since then, but the problem is I don’t have a ice rink close by. I only have one which I go to, but I can go only once a week. What should I do?
@LisaMagret.
@LisaMagret. 17 күн бұрын
I've never been in that situation, I can not give professional advice but just some tips ☺️ Maybe try implementing off ice jump training, spinner training, inline artistic and go to the ice rink whenever you can or try artistic roller skating or artistic inline skating if it's more convenient for you 🫶🏻🫶🏻

what can I do if there aren't any ice skating rings in my city?
@LisaMagret.
@LisaMagret. 2 ай бұрын
Well you could check if there are any rinks which you're able to go to by car/train.. if it's a longer ride you could skate on weekends and do off ice training/ ballet during the week 🫶🏻 But if there are no skating rinks at all you could go to skating camps during holiday or try inline artistic 🙈 Those would be my ideas!! Hope it helps 💗

if ice skating literally isnt an option for you, you could look into artistic roller skating and see if its popular/avalible in ur country, its basically figure skating but on roller skates, its taken seriously as well there are world championships for it. its popular in hotter countries.

,, wow I am just speechless of this yt video basically this whole video is about a girl who is just telling you that you need to be rich to do figure skating and who fast she could to it with me money of her parents and if your can’t afford the professional skates then you can’t do shit this video is just soo unmotivated video I ever saw in my whole life the only good ,, tip” I got from this video is making notes after training. If I could sue you from taking my time I definitely would. “
@esnx9751
@esnx9751 4 ай бұрын
Oh, please go outside. Most professional figure skaters would tell you it takes a lot of time, money, and discipline. As a matter of fact, many do come from rich, well-off families. Skating is expensive and that's a well known fact obviously there are other methods however you'll definitely progress slower (which is also ok) but that shouldn't be unmotivating for you if you really wanted to do figure skating you'd do it.

ik its hard money was also a massive factor as to why i couldnt do it as often, my only advice is to get a job, nothing permanent just something to do so u can afford to skate. i got one at my rink. totally get that might not be an option for you but its kinda the only option sadly :(

Your comment is absolutely ridiculous!!! First, it is well known that figure skating is one of the most expensive sport. Second, any sport is expensive if you want to advance and compete. Quality equipment, private lessons, traveling...all $$$. Now stop whining, use some common sense and apologize to the girl.
