Loved the video however, I disagree with your statement on how literature reviews are not useful to the scientific community. There's a reason why meta-analysis and other lit reviews are sometimes some of the most cited research papers. Literature reviews help inform best practices, common research methodologies, and common trends. With science trending towards transparency in methods and results through open science practices. Literature reviews will only grow in relevancy as they are meant to synthesize and sometimes even quantify what is out there to tell you what is missing.

Hey I did the program a while ago, during summer of 2023, as a sophomore. I feel like lumiere is a good place to start if you don’t know where to start learning how to write a research paper, but it has its limitations. Sometimes you don’t get the most supportive mentors, and you might learn that the subject that you chose isn’t very interesting for you, too late into the program. The program does not give you access to paywalled journals, so it’s kind of hard to get the information you need. Also, this is what I heard from some people, but pay-to play programs aren’t very good as an EC unless you actually publish something. You should try it if you qualify for scholarships, or if you have some money. And if you’re completely new to research and have no family members that can help you regarding research.

Practice writing correct English - people will take you more seriously and give you advice. Grammarly and browser spellcheck will help you for free. You can study AP class contents on your own and take the SAT and AP tests. Plenty of free study and prep material is available on Khan Academy, Coursera, and KZbin. The tests are costly for a non-US-based family, so all your family will need to chip in. You'll probably need to get a summer job or find another way to earn extra money to cover application expenses, e.g. running a small business. Could me handmade, tutoring, catering. This could become a character-building opportunity for you. Writing essays is just a little stepping stone; SAT prep will help you with these. Find and follow your passion to the most impressive degree. It's amazing that you have such a dream, it'll take you places.

Hiii, I too am in ME, I finished highschool this year (not an Ivy student nor aiming to be). I am kinda surprised you dunno how to write essays since in the different schools I was in there was a huge emphasis in that. However If you wanna improve it I advise just practicing the basics till you perfect it and you can do that by writing about subjects you love. As for AP. AP is in fact provided and can take it however you should talk to your school/principal about it first since you get into it through your school. As for the lack of classes Khan Academy provides explanation for most of the APs however if you took a subject that isn't in Khan Academy (in my case it was psychology), you can study the classes through your collegeboard AP classroom after getting admitted to the subject. Since you are trying for Ivy legues I suggest you try and take like 8 APs (check the amount you need) and divide as 4 in your junior year and another 4 in your senior. and put in mind you need to register in it in the start of the school year or you'll have to pay extra fees. Also I advice you ask to take it digitally since (for me) it was very taxing doing it in paper. And try study from the very start and to never cram or, to put it bluntly, you'll eat shit. Another solution if you can't take AP for any reason is CLEP it provides college credit much like APs however you can register by yourself, do it in multiple dates (unlike APs which are only in may), and has a far more variety in subjects offered and for a nearly similar price for APs. However check if the university you want accept the test. A main thing you should focus on is SAT you have to get a good score in it and luckily you can register by yourself. As for the exam itself, the good part the syllabus is easy, the bad part is that you have limited time. To give an idea you have like 1 min for a 1 question and you have 150 question you should do in 3 hours. I advise you to practice through Khan Academy and for grammer to hear Erica book. Take english measurements tests such as IELTS, TOEFUL, etc. Try remote extracurriculars, such as remote internships, publishing a book, etc. or try to register in known competitions, ex: math Kangroo compitition. You can also volunteer in or start non-profit organizations however remember to officially document your volunteering hours. That my advices, hope it benefits you.
