Great video Jason. It has taken me six months of reselling, but I have ended up in the same place. Listing similar items in batches saves so much time. I've come to the conclusion that systems and processes are the keys to an efficient business. I really enjoyed this one man.

It's really important to prepackage though to make sure I can ship ASAP. That makes it more time-consuming upfront but less so overall

I'd be interested to know how long the process of taking pictures and getting measurements adds to that one hour. When I list, I take all my photos, get serial numbers to find similar listings, organize photos, and then list. The actual listing process I think isn't what is taking me awhile

Very helpful and informative, thank you! I was curious about your descriptors for the shirt you listed first. You said it's "check," but isn't it plaid? Check is short for checkerboard, and I thought it referred to plaids that are evenly spaced and equally sized, horizontal and vertical, making squares not rectangles... I could be wrong so thought I'd ask if you know something I don't? Also idk if you do this, but with long sleeves I always include the arm length, from the shoulder seam to the edge of the cuff, and note if the shoulder seam is relaxed or not. If relaxed, I measure from the shoulder seam and also include a measurement from where the natural shoulder actually fits in the shirt, bc the relaxed seam makes the arm length seem shorter than it really is. I didn't used to always include the arm measurement, but I sell a lot of big & tall men's clothing, and I was always getting questions about the arm length. And my partner is very tall and has trouble finding shirts with long enough arms, so I've found it to be helpful and a time saver to include upfront. One more question, you use Vendoo, and I've been trying to decide between Vendoo and List Perfectly. I'm curious if you've compared the two, and whether you prefer Vendoo for specific reasons or not? How do you inventory your items as far as bookkeeping? Also, do you inventory the before you list them, or do all that afterward? Do you use your own spreadsheets, or do you use something like QuickBooks?

im curious , if you were to time yourself like say take 10 items.. time yourself taking the photos for all ten items and taking measurements and notes one at a time or seperate from photos then time yourself listing all ten items add it all up and see what you get. then do another 10 to completion one at a time and see how they add up. you would have to do both tests several times for control then average them up. get a legit reading to report without a tricky title. cause when i saw the title i didnt imediately assume you did it by only actually timing the "listing step" seperately from the rest of the process. somewhat disappointing to realize but i havent left yet.

Great question, so if I'm listing and taking photos I can do 10 in about 45 minutes to an hour. I mainly list items that are VERY similiar so I don't have to spend a lot of time thinking up titles or researching sold comps :) Thanks for reaching out

Great question Eliana, I would start off doing calculated shipping if I were in your shoes. You'll start to get an idea for what certain items cost going to certain regions. Then, once you get more of an idea of costs, you can switch to flat if you're comfortable. :)

Sandy, Great Question! You got it exactly. With Vendoo, I first create all the ebay listings in batches (like I demonstrated in the video) and then I import them into Vendoo to crosspost to 4-5 other sites.

Thanks Jason. I'm really getting discouraged and disappointed about how long it's still taking me to get listings done. It's making me not want to list and that's not good for my business! I have been doing everything on my phone because transferring the photos on my laptop is a pain and most of the time it won't upload the photos anyways. I never thought of doing it this way! Even searching if I don't know that item price from my own listings and selling similar would still be faster than doing it on my phone!!

Don't laugh, but yesterday I did my FIRST ebay listing attempt of 25 items, it took me 6 hours to drafts, without picture taken. Today was additional 6 items that I mastered in one hour, still no pictures, as I absolutely have no skill to make it clean, clear and true to colors, and ... yeah... that's it. Hopefully it will get faster with experience.

Roberta, great question! I create in ebay first, then use vendoo to bring it into 4-5 other platforms. BUT, you can create the listing in vendoo if you wish

Most of the other selling platforms have a simpler listing process than eBay, so I was wondering whether Vendoo does a good job of anticipating all the listing choices in their listing platform or if some key components Are missing? And when you crosslist, does Vendoo do an excellent job where everything ends up translating perfectly, or are there necessary tweaks you have to adjust individually on different platforms?

John, I used to list on my phone but I believe that I'm quicker using a computer. I can't vouch for how much time it takes on a phone. I'd say maybe try a trial run and see how things go using both methods. Thanks for reaching out!

so am i understanding this ? you are able to list 20 items because you have already taken out the time to photo , and take down all of the details which is more than half of the listing effort. by this method id say 20 an hour isnt impressive good but not unheard of. not critiquing so much as observing. This is my first video and i appreciate the tips and ideas.

Mike H, this is assuming that I've only taken photos. I don't write down any details about items. I just simply make a mental note as I'm listing the item, which is included in the time that I'm listing 20 items per hour.

This is somewhat clickbait. Many KZbinrs make similar videos with similar claims so he’s not the only one. The point is, Yes, it’s quick in doing just the listing part on ebay but that’s only a small slice of the process! Cleaning, removing stickers, researching prices (even clothing prices fluctuate), photographing (not just 3 or 4 pics but at least 6 to get all sides of a hardgoods item) and then editing those photos to make them the best as possible, pre-packaging for inventory storage, putting them into storage and noting in spreadsheet to keep track of inventory, etc. THIS is what needs to be done for Every Listing! Now how many can you do an hour?????

​@@debbieholt8261I think the key takeaway is to list in batches, rather than individually. And not just listing, but doing everything in batches. Photos. Measurements. Research. Prepackaging/weighing etc. I've found this saves me a ton of time, because there's so much less back-and-forth. Instead of feeling that tiny sense of accomplishment when one listing is completed, that feeling is held off until the batch is done, and voila! Instead of one listing, it's a dozen or twenty or whatever. I get so much more done in less time with the batch process, it's a huge difference for me.
