It is quite evident that you are very familiar with the Olympus settings Robin haha, wow fast. Now you just need to do tutorials on landscape settings, sports settings, and wildlife settings. Just kidding! It's going to take me a while to learn the Olympus system, and what each setting does, which settings are not compatible, and which settings or functions work with RAW and or JPEG. I figure it's going to take me a few months before I feel confident with my settings for each style of photography. Thanks for another great video.

Hey Robin! Love your channel and actually binge watched all your videos when I found out about you last week haha! I'm currently in the market to upgrade from the Olympus OM-D EM5 (2011 Edition). I was curious if you feel the EM 1 Mark ii is still a worthwhile camera to buy in 2019? The only thing that has made the decision harder is the soon to be released EM5 Mark iii. I'm curious your thoughts. Thanks and keep up these awesome videos (and can't wait for more shutter therapy vids!)
@robinwong
@robinwong 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the kind words. It really depends on what you use the camera for. In a pro shooting environment, the E-M1 Mark II thrives with better/beefier hand-holding grip and much longer battery life. Not to mention the larger EVF. The E-M5 Mark III is not designed to be used extensively in serious shooting conditions, but for everything else, it shines.
@MagicGamer28
@MagicGamer28 4 жыл бұрын
@@robinwong Thank you! Will keep that in mind as I keep looking and save up :)!
@NewoolDoge
@NewoolDoge 4 жыл бұрын
@@MagicGamer28 Also consider the price. If you don't mind the bulk and size of the EM1 Mark II, it is actually a much better deal than the EM5 Mark III. You can get a new EM1 Mark II body for around RM4.8k right now, while the new EM5 Mark III body alone is more than RM5k. If I had the money and I want an upgrade, I would have picked the EM1 Mark II! But that's just me. Still, if you travel a lot and do a lot of street photography, perhaps the EM5 Mark III is better. Cheers!

I'm curious why you're not using AdobeRGB color space? And also I always backup my settings to the computer, and restore them to different cameras when I use them, but I wished this option to be available to record/restore from an SD card if possible even to apps to the phone Ol. Share/Tracker, hope you pass that to Olympus :)

Because my laptop screen, my desktop monitor, my smartphone screen and my tablet screen are all showing sRGB. If I use Adobe RGB, none of the screens I have show the colors and also the majority of people in the world see only sRGB so there is no point to use Adobe RGB unless you are into professional printing environment

Good afternoon, Robin. I have my MK II set up to write ORF raw files to cadr 1 and jpg to card 2. Sometimes jpgs appear on card 1, along with the raw files. Simultaneously, the jpg is on card 2. Any thoughts on that? Also, I went on a birding trip recently when only the very first photo I took that day showed up on the cards. Same for both cards. Later in the same day in a different location all pictures were written to both cards normally. That happened only once, but I'd like to prevent it happening again.. Thanks! Jim

Thanks for sharing but you talk to fast so it's very difficult to keep up with your explanations and grasp the importance of why you set it up that way. It would've been nicer if you slowed up a bit and showed illustrations of how a certain set up affects your shooting experience.
@robinwong
@robinwong 4 жыл бұрын
This was never meant to be a full set up video. The purpose of this video is to have a camera quickly set up, in case need to fully reset it, for whatever reasons. When I do have time and not in a rush, I set up the camera differently. So, of course it is quick, and if you find certain settings hard to follow, you just have to pause them and replay that part. I don't have the time, energy and resource to make a one hour video to explain why I use each and every setting. That is also pointless, everyone sets the camera differently, and I am not suggesting you follow me. This video was to help you get over the fear of resetting your camera if you have to.

With the original OMD EM-1 camera with latest upgrade, I have set a negative 10db on the external mic and -10db settings in the camera I still getting above -12db on the meter. If the signal is below zero but still hitting red on the camera meter, will that cause distortion (concert environment)? Anyway to lower these numbers since camera's amplifier seems too hot at even when to the lowest (-1)db)?

I think you are asking this question at the wrong place. This video was about setting up the camera for photography shooting. Also, I am not a video shooter, and I don't do much audio as well. Maybe find another KZbinr with more experience in this subject? If I answer your question now I think I will just make things worse.

@Tomek IMO it’s brilliant. I forget I’m looking at an electronic screen. You would have to move the camera very fast to see any lag, in fact to achieve any lag you’d have to move the camera so fast you wouldn’t be able to take a photo anyway. The camera is 3 years old so it’s unfair to compare to competition unless doing so from a similar period.
