I'm on Day 3 of quitting. This is about my fourth Day 3 in the last six weeks. I kept relapsing by having four or five cigs then stopping again. I've finally learned that one can't be a part-time smoker...you're either a smoker or a non-smoker. I've made the decision to be a NON-smoker for many reasons. The biggest reason is that I wouldn't be too crazy about having a stroke or a heart attack due to narrowed blood vessels to my brain and heart (which is what smoking does). Thanks for the excellent video and Good Luck to you!

But now I am on my 8th day of "quitting smoking" (im not counting the days anymore because i feel so much better :) ) this video helped in a few situations with some "cravings" i quote it because i am not really craving nicotine! and thats what i thought was happening. it is just a physiological response ur body has during withdrawal that only lasts about 3 mins, and as cohert says "then they go away" he was very much right. i feel very free today and it feels like my lungs are loosening up. god bless all !

Just wanted to say you gave me the inspiration to quit 6/27/13 COLD TURKEY. Didn't think I could do it without patches, pills, therapy, but I saw your no B.S. video and gave it a shot. And the best part is that I only gained 2 lbs, by making a couple amendments to my diet and work outs. Oddly enough, I had quit back in June 2000 and then started back up in November 2003. That time I went on the patch, started chewing a month after quitting and still gained 10-12 lbs the first few months, which dropped back to a few pounds after a year or so. This time I'm 100% nicotine free. I'll admit, I still get occasional cravings, and sometimes they're fairly intrusive, but I've become adept at squashing them. I don't know if they'll ever go away completely. Anyway, you definitely have the most inspirational video on the web, bar none, and for that, I thank you sir.

Good for you 👍👍. I am about to have my FINAL quit on Friday (maybe sooner) so I’ve been reading and watching videos the past few weeks. I’ve tried a few times, last reall attempt was 15 years or more ago. Through that attempt the MOST useful thing I did was remember what someone once told me. “If you smoke the urge will pass, if you don’t smoke the urge will pass”. You pretty much said those exact same words. And those really are the TRUEST words ever 👍👍👍👍. When I stopped saying those words during a craving, that’s when I picked up. But when I used them I got through EVERY craving pretty easily. I’m definitely USING THEM this time, every time I get an urge. Congrats to you!! And thanks for sharing your story.

I quit smoking 1 week ago cold turkey, no drags ,no vapes no nothing and I feel great. I do get an urge but it goes away fast. I will never fall back in to this dirty habit that takes all your money and does nothing for you. If it got you high it might be worth 10 dollars a pack but it doesn't! I've been a smoker since age 15 I'm now 49! I love being a non smoker. All it took for me was to say ok I've had enough of this shit I'm fkn done! It just doesn't get any easier than that it's all just the mental state you must overcome as to having it in your hand and putting it to your mouth. If I fail I will let you know but I will not!! My kids are very happy w me as my Mom w copd.and all my friends I'm now the 5th guy to give up smoking at my shop. There are only 4 guys left that smoke its a small shop.

I want to be able to take long walks with my dog again instead. I watched your video and it was the first real encouraging video I have come across. Simple and to the point. No gimmicks. Thank you for sharing your story! Today is the day!

Thank you so much for posting this! Today is day 1 for me after a significant asthma attack last night (partly smoking and partly cleaning out dusty places in my house). The attack scared me half to death as my Mum, my Grandma, and 4 aunts/uncles have all passed away from COPD. At 48 years old I certainly don't need that!!! I'm going to be watching this video alot as I continue my quest. Thank you again and congrats to you! You should be so proud of yourself!!!!!!!

Thanks for watching, I watched alot of videos during the first few weeks that I I had quit and it is nice to hear other peoples testimonies, and to be able to hear back from them. I wish you the best and hope that it works for you. the first three days seemed the hardest to me, but it got easier and easier as time went by.

This is actually one of the most inspirational video's I've ever seen. I realizing that you're right that cigarettes make you feel worst! I'm just starting to quit, I've just threw out a half of pack that i just bought. I just need to keep my mind on doing other things! And I've noticed that they also makes you lazy!

I am very glad that I came upon this video, today is the beginning of Day 4 for me. The past few days have been hard, very hard. I look forward to the future when I won't have cravings any more. I quit after a doctor's appointment, I heard things I did not want to hear...even though I already knew them. Life is already short enough...I can breathe better. My mind is going crazy though.. I am a fighter. Thank you for your honesty and advice.

I am really impressed man. I was searching for vids on quitting Prozac cold turkey as this is something I'm contemplating. Your video really makes an awesome point. Cigarettes are the problem not the solution. This is not a new concept it's actually something I've heard for years but suddenly it clicked while watching your video. I keep running back to the source of the problem searching for a solution. WOW I can really apply this to most of my bad habits, overeating, gambling etc... Thanks for posting this as it may just have a huge impact on others including myself. Sometimes we build up this fear like stopping is as big as climbing Everest when in fact it really is just simple to make the choice and stand firm. Thanks

I woke up this morning, not planning on quitting myself. I have smoked for 10 years about 1/2 pack a day or less. I was very inspired by your video. Thank you so much for making it and sharing your story. your honesty is what makes it seem possible for anyone to quit. lets see how it goes, one hour at a time....

I was just smoking and thought to myself "this is doing nothing for me at all but making me feel like crap, why do I let these things control me" I can't play sports like I use to because I can't breath and I'm only 27. This video is encouraging, there is no real trick....cutting down, using the gums and patches just make the withdrawals drag out longer. You just got to stop and let the cravings pass. It'll be hour by hour for me, thank you for this video.

Hi there, I quit cold turkey on April 7th 2013 ,I woke up that morning and prayed to the lord to take this journey with me, and I felt really at peace, I had very few cravings, I smoked a pack a day for over 25 yrs, I am going to be 48 on the 21st of July, and I've never felt better I've seen your video a long time ago, I just found it again and your right on with things,my hubby still smokes but I don't bother him about it, he will quit on his own time, thanks for the insight on smoking

Your no-nonsense approach is very helpful for me. I'm on day 5 right now, and trying to justify casual smoking... maybe a couple per day, like one after work, one before bed, then maybe more on the weekends... keep it to a pack a week. But, maybe... JUST maybe... I'll actually be ok without smoking at all. I'm still thinking of those key moments that I really miss them. But when I get past them, and end up in bed at the end of the night without having smoked all day, feels pretty darn good... Thanks for putting this video up!

I'm smoking my last cigarette right now. I tried quitting a few times but I never really wanted to so I always started again. I've finally realized that it's time to quit. I've only been smoking for 3 years and I just turned 18. Too young to ruin my health any more than I have already.

good for you buddy! I decided as you did to quit smoking after +30 years of puffing my life away cold turkey. But just recently my life's been spiraling downwards and I tried so hard not to smoke. I just gave in and had my 1st cigarette since a month ago. I feel like such a failure. But hey... I'm not giving up! I'll start again tomorrow for sure. Thanks for your post and I hope you're still smoke free!

Congrats to you! Im a nurse and smoked on and off and finally quit for good cold turkey. There are no good things about smoking…the price, your health….etc. I just lost a good friend to lung cancer last month…..she left 2 sons. Thanks for the video!

Excellent vid! I am going to need to watch again. I so desperately want to quit, but I am also afraid to quit (if that makes sense). Started at 15 and am now 50. My cigs have been with me in good times and bad. My cigs and I ...It's like night/day. One doesn't work without the other. What I like about your vid is your calmness. A life will go on type of vibe. That I'll still be me just w/o the smokes. Thanks! Again..good vid.
