About: I have come up with a new solution for filling our water tank while we are boondocking. If you are like us and you spend more than a few days in the wild, the chances are good you are going to need to fill your water tank. Well, if you are a single person, lifting a 60lb jug up to fill your tank on the gravity fill side is next to impossible. With this get up, I no longer need a second pair of hands to fill the tank. This water pump solution solves my problem of filling the tank while alone.

I like your idea of the solar pump to draw water from a lake or creek/river. 👍 I use a Wadoy Shaker Siphon Hose (clear) for water, self priming to transfer from my 7 gallon containers.

I'm going to look into that shaker idea for perhaps fuel transfer should there be a fuel sourcing problem some day. Great device!

Do you folks have Matts Off Road Recovery on speed dial? Many of those free camping sites have very poor trails .

No, we don't. But we do carry recovery gear. Boards, Straps, Winch, shovel, axe and so on. Added to this, we never, ever drive into a spot prior to checking it on either I Overlander or on Campendium to check the reviews. If the reviews hint or indicate it might be a bit dicey, we will generally pass. We also pass if there are no reviews for a listed site. Another trick we will deploy, when it's legal to do so, is flying the drone in to see what the road may look like ahead. Otherwise, if we are uncertain, I will walk ahead 4-500 yards if need be to verify we can drive it and turn around...prior to attempting access. We have yet to have to use the recovery gear, but have learned the hard way about going in too deep before assessing the terrain. We've almost been stuck one time in sand and had to back out quite a ways on a one way (narrow) road that took a steep incline that we couldn't climb. But in our experience, using Campendium and I Overlander, we have been able to avoid the "poor trails" and roads. Thanks for watching!
