Hi guys, just a note on this video. We're focusing on beginner friendly curly hair tips. Maybe it's just me but I sort of get turned off when I see too many products in a video that's supposed to be beginner friendly. I will be making more videos ofcourse. Videos using different leave in conditioners, oils and mousses. For the past 5 months this has been my routine. It's been simple. It's had minimal steps. It's really interesting to know that you guys don't mind a routine with more steps. I guess it's time for me to buy a few other products and test them out and give you guys more options.

Hi Michelle, y should u not apply coconut oil to maintain yr curls and also promote hair growth . I oil my hair little by little everyday and then wash with cg products. Is that fine ??
@MichelleManuel3 жыл бұрын
It's totally fine to use a tiny bit of oil everyday. Just don't apply it on your scalp. You don't want to clog your scalp up.

Since starting my curly hair journey about maybe 3 to 5 months ago I have started making hair oils. Studying different hair curl types and giving them to my girlfriends. You know, when one of us gets it we all get it. I have always been of that mindset and it has been quite helpful for myself and others with retaining shine. Also to see some definition since I'm still in the beginning phase. I'm trying to figure out what is the best products for 2B - 3A. I am currently using LUS products, the shampoo and conditioner and all in one for wavy hair. I'm not overly impressed with all-in-one product anymore it doesn't seem to hold my hair much at all. I am going to get a continuous water spray bottle and some of my oil and also some of the all-in-one with water and see if that will help on my refresh days. I'm so encouraged watching everyone's videos ❤️. I'm really trying to figure out how to get the beautiful clumps of wavy/curls
@MichelleManuel2 жыл бұрын
Hi Carrie. It's so lovely that you're blending oils at home. I have a video on oils that are best for hair based on porosity. Might be worth a watch. It's so lovely that your friends get to sample your blends! What a kind gesture. If you're in the UK or in the states, you could check out the Umberto gianini gel or the dipity do girls with curls jelle. They're hard gold gels that really work well to retain definition. Even a foam or mousse could help with hold. I think Not your mother's curl talk line has a mousse that curlies and wavies seem to love.

Hey, no hate, I don't know if u updated this in ur new videos so just wanted to mention that hygral fatigue is something like a myth, u can watch the hydration video by lab muffin beauty science for reasoning, but in summary the hydrogen bonds breakage during hair wetting is temporary, she explains it is like legos, attach and dettach, there is no conclusive evidence regarding hygral fatigue, the study that is done is not reliable due to several parameters, you can research more What most think of hygral fatigue is over moisturizing, many mention that using only hydrating products made their hair limp and dull, this overhydrating is linked with hygral fatigue which is not true Of course u can correct me if I'm wrong, but this is to my knowledge true, so just putting it out here P.s. I love ur videos so rly no hate, u helped me so much in my hair journey Anyways have a nice day, bye :)

Hello, it was felt really nice watching your video. It was very informed and detailed. Since I also stay in Kolkata and I workout daily, I wanted to ask you something. People say that we should wet (not shampoo) our hair everyday if we workout daily, because of the sweating and to get rid of the build-up. Do you agree, and would you recommend wetting the hair daily if we are working out?

@BBakerStreet-ku1gf3 жыл бұрын
I have a few questions that really confuse me Ig after watching so many different videos n reading different blogs it happend I hope you can clear it as your videos always help me n are very easily understanable. Why do we plop our hair after washing n styling? What really is frizz?? Difference between tangles and frizz? What is difference between density and volume of hair? Can we also you satin covers or hairties? Which fragrance is safe for our products like there are some products who have fragrance in them and fragrance is not good for us but some of them are so how do we get to know them?
@MichelleManuel3 жыл бұрын
Ok. Let me attempt to answer this. Frizz is hair that is lacking moisture and therefore reaches out in order to grab moisture from the air surrounding it. I've explained this in my busting 5 curly hair myths video. A tangle is a knot. When your hair gets tangled, it gets knotted up with eachother. There's less lubrication between the strand ie more friction, as a result you get tangles.
@MichelleManuel3 жыл бұрын
Density vs volume Density is the number of strands per square inch. Volume is how fluffy your hair looks. You can manipulate* your volume by using lighter products. You can't change density. Fragrance No matter the kind of fragrance, whether it comes from natural sources or synthetic, there is always a chance of allergies. Not everyone will have a reaction. But it does cause problems for some people. Fragrance is added in hair products for aesthetic reasons. I wish it wasn't so. But that's the sad truth. :(
@MichelleManuel3 жыл бұрын
Plopping is a method of curl training. You're scrunching your hair up during the initial drying stages, hoping that a gel cast starts forming. This gives you more shrinkage and more definition.

Hi dear...hope you noticed that i am watching your videos on loop😃 I have a doubt here. If I plop my hair , i am not able to get gel cast....and if we keep it for 30 minutes, doesn't it absorb all products?
@MichelleManuel2 жыл бұрын
Actually plopping gives you an amazing cast. Because it holds the hair in a scrunched up position, in the process the clumps form a thin layer/cast of gel over it. If you're not getting a cast, there are 2 reasons for it. 1. You're not using enough gel 2. You're styling on soaking wet hair. Wring the hair out before you start styling. I showed this in a recent video. Youl get a nice cast.

@MichelleManuel4 жыл бұрын
This is a very good question Sowmiya. Let your shampoo address your scalp concerns alone; since you focus shampoo only on your scalp. Therefore when you pick a shampoo it can be chosen based on different functions such as cleanses your scalp, removes oil, sebum, dirt, gets rid of buildup, soothes the scalp incase of dandruff and stimulates hair growth. Let your conditioner address hair concerns like dry hair, hair porosity, detangling needs such as slip, needs such as protein and moisture.

Very useful video again!! One question, is the wow conditioner a leave-in one?
@MichelleManuel4 жыл бұрын
Hey shraddha, the wow conditioner is not a leave in. But I had read articles on how it's ok to use a normal conditioner as a leave in. There are leave in conditioners available in the indian market. When I was starting I was a bit concerned about price point. Now that I realise that one bottle of shampoo and conditioner have lasted me months, I'm not as concerned with the price point aspect of things. (I'm on month 5 and still on my first bottle of shampoo)

What to do if we start getting frizz from 2nd day onwards...shd I increase conditioning?
@MichelleManuel4 жыл бұрын
Frizz is normal but it does get better with time. Your hair gets better with each wash. You won't find any overnight transformations or solutions when it comes to frizz. It takes time and patience. I've spoken about it in quite a few videos. Check out my videos on curly hair transition tips.

@@MichelleManuel I have curl up leave in conditioner at home as the argan conditioner is kinda cheap soo I am thinking of buying it to refresh curls , will it work now?
@MichelleManuel2 жыл бұрын
The wow conditioner is no longer cg friendly. When this video was made, we hardly had leave ins. Let alone budget leave ins. So use a cg leave in conditioner please. You'll find options on my amazon storefront

I'll check that... thank you so much...you are doing a great job. I m seeing results by following your videos. I just started CGM last week. As it is just beginning, it's a long hair wash day, also getting difficult to explain my mom, why I don't comb everyday, why i wash my hair only once a week 🤭🤭. I think she'll understand soon.

Please don't do that. Water can cause damage to the hair. Wash your hair/get your hair wet twice a week max

Wow gorgeous hair😍😍 I just started with the CG method for my 2b or 2c curls (I don't know exactly what it is). I followed each of these steps. But can you please help me with why my hair becomes extremely frizzy after air drying. Its looks nice when wet but as it starts to dry frizz appears from nowhere and stays put till I get it wet again. Serum doesn't help too. What do I do. Please help🥺

It definitely takes a bit of time to gain mastery over a cg styling routine. In the beginning frizz is expected during transition. It gets better with time. I have a video called how to start cgm in India. I also have a playlist to motivate you on your journey. It called cg transition tips, mistakes and motivation. I think it might help. Feel free to have a look.

How do I detangle my hair? They says don’t comb and don’t wash ur hair everyday then how do I go outside everyday without combing ; pls reply I am really confused
@MichelleManuel3 жыл бұрын
I know it's difficult to wrap your head around this. It took me a while to come to terms with it as well. I struggled with the idea as well. So the only time you will comb your hair is in the shower. Other days you will let your hair be. If you decide to comb your hair, it's going to destroy your curl clump & definition. Try it for a few weeks with an open mind and I think you'll be a little more inclined to continue with it.

@MichelleManuel Жыл бұрын
Let me give you some context. This video was filmed ages ago. Back then we didn't have so many leave in conditioners available to us in India We had to make do with what we had. More importantly there werent any leave in conditioners I could afford available in India. Alot of Indian Wavies and Curlies were using regular conditioner as a leave in. Today the state of things are different. Lots of budget options..use a leave in conditioner instead of the rinse off conditioner I've used here.

Hi. I have a doubt. The conditioner that you are using. Is it leave in??

It's not a leave in but I use it as one. If you're not comfortable with that, use the leave-ins by curl up or arata.

I wouldn't recommend doing this everyday. I have 2 variation videos on refreshes. 1. How to do a dry refresh 2. How to do a pin curl refresh It's in my post washday haircare playlist. I'd recommend trying them instead. Both are much faster routines.
