This is a CRUELTY FREE, BEGINNER FRIENDLY, CURLY HAIR ROUTINE ON A BUDGET! None of the products are expensive compared to the other shampoos and conditioners available in the market.
There aren't too many steps and products. All you need is a shampoo, conditioner, a cotton T shirt and a comb. The scalp massaging brush is not mandatory to have. You can just massage your scalp with your fingers. Point is this video isn't too technical or complicated. I remember getting extremely intimidated and confused when I started my natural hair journey. Hopefully this video breaks things down a bit and is easy for you to follow, if you're just starting on your Curly Hair Journey.
Expect your head to feel heavy and oily for the first 2 weeks. Your scalp will adapt and that feeling soon goes away.

Is it actually ok to use your rinse out conditioner as leave in A normal conditioner is supposed to be rinsed out right? I am actually Willing to try this coz my hair is dry and damaged but confused about leaving conditioner in hair I wash my hair 4-5 days later is that ok if the conditioner stays in the hair in the mean time also is it ok if we have to oil the hair in between days?

Wow! You weren't kidding when you said that's it's a routine on budget!! And no heat at all!! I love it. Just a question. When you style your hair do you do it in with the AC on or without? Is it ok to style while the weather is humid? Thanks again for this amazing tutorial!
@MichelleManuel
@MichelleManuel 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the kind words Esther. Thanks for watching! My entire styling is done in the bathroom right after I finish showering because I don't want to lose that moisture in my hair. Remember dry hair doesn't absorb product. You want it to be sopping wet. It's absolutely ok to style during humidity! Infact all the more reason to style I would say. If you're going to be home for the entire week and don't care about your hair looking nice, just use some conditioner as a leave in and do nothing else. I'll have a 'how I wear my curly hair during the week' video coming soon, where I detail how to protect your hair without causing damage! Again, thanks for watching!

So I decided to try ur whole technique. The only thing I didn’t do is but my hair in a bonnet at night. now looking at my hair on 2nd day it prob would be better if I did. It’s not bad tho I just wet my hands and smoothed it all and slightly recrunched and happy with it. Doing ur hair while it is still extremely wet and using enough product. My hair looks amazing. Clipping the front pieces to they dry in the way I want was such a pro-tip. U are amazing as always!
@MichelleManuel
@MichelleManuel 3 жыл бұрын
That's amazing. I do have an updated video on my wavy hair routine. The techniques used there are far superior for definition. You must try it once and see if it makes a difference. The bonnet is something I don't use either. I just pineapple my hair and use a satin pillowcase. It's great to make that switch for your skin as well. Please do try it. It's game changing.

Hello again! ❤ Your videos are so inspiring. It's amazing how I grew up never knowing about how to break up the crunch from the gel. I've stayed away from gel like it was horror for decades😂 I also didn't know that regular conditioner could be used as a leave-in. I'm not Indian, and I'm mostly of Irish heritage, but it doesn't matter. Our hair is so similar. I've learned so much recently just from your videos alone. You teach well. Thank you so much for sharing these CG trade secrets with us beachy waves girls 🧜🏻‍♀️🏝️💜

Hi there! So every conditioner cannot be used as a leave in conditioner. You'll need to check the ingredients to see that it's sulphate, silicone, paraben - alcohol free. By the way, I also have some Irish genes somewhere in my family. :)

Congratulations on your channel !!! The video is very informative. How do you sleep with this hair? I mean do you use a silk/satin pillowcase? Also how do you tie it while sleeping?
@MichelleManuel
@MichelleManuel 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Riddhi, thanks for your question. I generally use a satin/silk pillowcase. I tie my hair in a pineapple. I only tie my hair using a satin scrunchie or satin hair tie. I would however recommend a bonnet. I used a bonnet for a while but gave up since it triggered my migraines. I would recommend a bonnet above all else if you can tolerate it. I'm in the process of shooting a video on the topic. Video will be up in the coming weeks. Thanks for the question! :)

Thanks for the awesome detailing in the video! Was wondering if gel is super important for definition, or can it be skipped?
@MichelleManuel
@MichelleManuel 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Ahona, gel is to keep your hair in the form of a curl while drying. It keeps the curl clump intact. You can diy natural gels if you're apprehensive about using a gel. Try it once with and without a gel. See if there's a difference. Although, I would also recommend you sotc till your hair is soft. once you do that you won't be able to feel even a trace of gel in your hair. I promise!

Hey Michelle!!! Again a great video offcourse 💫💕 But in your previous video for beginner you mentioned that we can start with any aloe vera gel n u mentioned 2 products for it the bio organic and the kazima aloe vera gel so we just have to use it the same way as u did with the enliven, as the gel stay on the hair until the next wash ??...bcuz I saw some videos on how to use aloe vera gel on hairs so its like to apply it with oil n then go for a wash after an hour.....so I just wanna confirm it with you!!!

After appling conditioner (before squishing) your hair is partly straight. So instead of squishing, or styling with brush, what if you directly apply gel in praying hands motion? Will that give a minimal straight hair? Cauz yours looks like that! Have you ever tried it?

Hi! I’ve just started out a while back and I’m super grateful for this video. I have a question though, my crown area hair near the roots is SUPER frizzy and does it’s own thing no matter what I do. This makes the entire process feel like absolute waste because no matter how beautiful the length looks, up top it’s always frizzy and neither straight not curly. I’m going to watch more of your videos but I’m asking if there’s any video in particular that would address this ? So I can start with that. If not, then do you have any idea as to what I can do to make it better?
@MichelleManuel
@MichelleManuel 3 жыл бұрын
Please watch my Log video. That would help. Sometimes if it's broken hair or baby hair that's growing out or heat/colour damaged hair, there's little that one can do. Check out my techniques playlist and experiment with the techniques and see if a different technique works better for you. I also highly suggest watching my playlist on curly advice! I will make a detailed video on frizz asap. I have some info on my highlights on instagram that you could check out for now.

@@MichelleManuel I did watch the log video, and I’m definitely going to give it a try on the coming wash day. I have tried to use oils before but I stopped because I ended up breaking out on parts of my face where the hair would fall often throughout the day. But watching your video I’ve realised that I did use a bit too much oil on the hair so that makes sense. Also I started with coconut oil but later moved to jojoba thinking jojoba is good for acne prone skin whereas coconut is a big no, but I still did breakout so I stopped eventually. I’ll give it another shot keeping the quantity and process in mind, hopefully it’ll be better. Since I have extra sensitive skin, and even slightest changes trigger the acne; I tend to be super careful with the products I use, and if I breakout I freak the f out usually and stop everything lol. So maybe that was on me, and I didn’t give the oil a good enough chance to shine.

Will it be okayy to oil my hair which would already be coated with gel? I prepare it mixing coconut oil, olive oil vit e capsule and pure aloevera juice... can I use it or are there specific oils as well to be used in cgm?

I keep coming back to this video 🙈 So you use wow charcoal shampoo right? In another video you said this and curl up shampoo can work as clarifying shampoo. Tho it’s good to remove all the build up but does it dry your hair if you use every week/wash?
@MichelleManuel
@MichelleManuel 3 жыл бұрын
Both these shampoos have surfactants ie cleansers for the scalp. They're not as harsh as sulphates and so they can be used once a week especially if you're living in india. They're cg approved. What I said in my clarifying video was that, if you're a cruelty free consumer, you don't have a clarifying option in india. As we know from that video, a clarifying shampoo is something that gets rid of buildup as well as residual silicones. The only way to get rid of silicones is by using a sulphate. Cruelty free consumers don't have a clarifying shampoo option in india. Since the wow shampoo has sodium lauroyl sarcosinate (which is a surfactant, but not a sulphate) it's our best bet. Hope this clears things up.
