The wheel shattered because you were using a cutting disc as a grinding disc.
@superdog1964 Жыл бұрын
Correct, If you continue to use it in this matter? you will end up digging out shrapnel from your body. That disk is used to cut through metal like rusted bolts, nuts etc. It can also be used to cut sheet metal if you are careful. Only the thin edge should have pressure applied to it, We all know what happens when you push down on the wide side like a sanding disk Lol. Please be careful unless you enjoy trips to the hospital.

I have a 21 year old Chevy that I've only put 80k miles on. It has some rust spots I'd like to tackle. It has loads of life left in it but the rust spots look dreadful. I'm going to give it a shot and hopefully mine looks as good as yours when I'm done.
@TheWoodlandReboot3 жыл бұрын
Sounds like there is a lot of life left in your Chevy. I watched several 'professional' rust repair KZbinrs and followed their advice step by step. And, of course, I followed the instructions on the various products. Good luck Heather and thanks for the kind words. Peter at the Reboot.

What grit or type of sanding disc did you use to strip the rust

It is a simple, cheap fix on a $3000 pick-up meant to give it a couple years of looking better. Welding is a better option that I decided not to go with due to cost effectiveness.
