Wow!!! Gillian, none of us have any excuses in seeing your schedule in managing a family, home schooling, and a successful business. Exceptional time management. Awesome!!!

Thank you! I appreciate that. Like I said in the video, though... whatever responsibilities you have will feel like they take up all your time. So we all have lots of excuses... we just have to figure out how to not let them stop us.

Almost ready to launch my 100k funnel, it took so long cause of having my surprise baby! Your schedule with your kids is inspiring, I have a baby that won't nap unless he is in motion, which is tough, but I'm getting there. Loved your 100k master mind class, I'm really looking forward to finally putting it to work.

I feel like I was hearing the inside of my brain and heart! I work full time at an 9-5 outside of the home and homeschool my 4 children while building my business. My goal is to leave my 9-5 and you were such a blessing to find. I love that you found a name to what I have known for so long: Parkinson’s Law! Thank you for your content!

A beautiful life work. I hope other mothers see this respectfully. Choice is a powerful force. The old road at one time common now the road less traveled. Dichotomy? All the gifts from your choice especially your precious family. Legacy. If you ever decided to step down and strictly be a stay-at-home mom without working would your husband takes the main provider role and would you as a family survive? At what time will you have enough acquired wealth, or will you always work these businesses? Does this cause any challenges in marriage?
@gillianzperkins Жыл бұрын
To be honest, I'd love to not work and be a full-time stay-at-home mom, but I don't have that option, so I'm making the best out of my situation.

Mom of 7 soon to be 8 and you are such an inspiration to me! I hope this isn't too personal of a question, but I would love to hear your strategies for keeping energy up 😅. That is definitely my biggest challenge
@gillianzperkins Жыл бұрын
Congrats on baby #8!! A few things that help me with my energy: - Keeping my blood sugar balanced. Read "The Glucose Revolution" if you haven't already! - Exercising. I don't do a lot, but even just a few hours per week makes a big difference. - Strong boundaries with my kids. I take care of them, spend tons of time with them, and shower them with love. But I also have strong boundaries to make sure I can get enough sleep and rest. For example, once they're in bed for the night, they can only get up to use the bathroom or get a drink, and they know to just do those things on their own and not bother mom or dad. And in the mornings, I don't get up and "take care of them" the second they wake up. I wake up with my alarm, get ready for the day, then join them in the kitchen to make breakfast for them. I know creating boundaries can be very difficult, but I find that it enables me to be a much better (and more energized) mom.

So sweet to see your adorable kids in the video Gillian! However I am surprised you did not mention your husband, I remember the interview which you had. Being in a good healthy relationship with a partner who supports your goals and business and helps with kids and household can be a huge factor both for your own balance and happiness and for the family and kids which of course tells on the results of the business and time management. I don't have kids, however I feel like many women who have might want to hear a more in-depth dive into this topic :).

So many important and helpful nuggets here! I think in addition to everything here, and especially in a capitalistic system like the U.S., where we're always taught (or brainwashed?) that bigger is better, we have grandiose ideas of becoming the next unicorn or KZbin sensation, it can be helpful too to think about business sustainability and earning "enough" rather than scaling, growing, earning more more more. The key word is ENOUGH. And learning what enough is to sustain our life and family ecosystem sustainably- this is true sustainability. We need to ask ourselves instead of bigger and richer, how can we maintain our inner peace in our families, in ourselves, our heart centeredness, our spiritual connection, our authenticity, our connection to our customers, our humanity, our joy, our magic? I love how you talk about working less hours, and not trying to pressure ourselves to work in a hustle culture like everyone else - we set our own rules. Plus if we abandon our family, friends, our kids, our partners - the people closest to us that if shit hit the fan, or we were on our deathbeds - the people who really matter, for thousands of subscribers/strangers - what the heck are we even doing? Thanks again for some important reminders here on staying centered and grounded.

What do your kids do when you still need to get work done and they have fjnished with their naps? How do the ones that nap, nap at the same time? Do you have kids that nap easily on their own? What do the non napping kids when the napping kids are asleep? Who does the sleep routine with them? I spend 30mins before each nap plus 1 hour before bedtime trying to get my LO to sleep, not to mention often having to stay close by (co-sleep) in order for them to stay asleep 🫠 . It would be great for you to share some tips on motherhood and child raising, sleep getting kids to play independently etc.

I would have loved to see the behind the scenes content from inbetween all the takes 😂 this video was super inspiring. i run a business membership with a lot of people who are just starting their journey on being self employed and we just talked about "how to prepare your business for having kids in the future". Will definitely share this video with my clients since i think it will be really helpful to many of them. With adhd, we have some tbh but called time blindness, so we can say xyz will take 1 hour but often times that isn’t the case for us. We’re only efficient when our brains deem a task as exciting and likely to boost our dopamine deprived brains. I hate that this is an excuse, but it’s honestly the most depressing thing to not have this acknowledged and to be constantly told “well other people manage” (and yes, I’m aware some people with adhd have found ways to boost their efficiency and don’t get their lives hindered as much by it, but when you’re an overworked mum, trying to homeschool, and have adhd, it’s like everything just feels more exhausting 🫠 how do we come out of this mindset?

Fantastic ! Great job , a real life wonder woman! Getting a work to life balance is never easy, Don't get trapped inside a " Golden Cage" However, this is for all, over doing it catches up with you in later years mentally, physically and emotionally. Do what is most important for your soul, you never get the time back you missed with loved ones. Most people spend more time working " in " their relationships and no time working " on " their relationships. Life is like a flower, the blooms of joy come and go, the delicate balance of nature too much water drowns doesn't know how to grow strong roots to search for itself , too little water it struggles to survive.
