Very interesting insight for me, picked up a few tips once again. Thanks for your efforts with the channel as always, looking forward to seeing you finish those few sticks ???

Hi , Those sticks are now drying with a boild linseed oil finish on them. Started next batch also. The wife mentioned I need to get the hallway and landing painted as I promised a month ago. I have stripped the walls bare and removed the heaters weeks ago and not touched it since. Her patience is being tested now, so I better put some time in to finish the job I started . Stick crafting keeps getting in the way.Thanks for watching the video. Andy.

Hi Andy, a real insight to sanding, something I use when making furniture is a cabinet scraper which is really useful on flat surfaces. Thanks for sharing your technique. BTW the two woodspirit's look very nice. Take care Paul

Hi , hand a look in a few hardware stores. They did not stock a cabinet scraper and suggested it was a specialist tool. This surprised me as it is really an angled hand scraper of flat metal... nothing to outlandish .They are online, so I will order one.Thanks for watching and supporting the channel. Andy.

Hi Andy, sanding is my least favourite activity. I start off at 60 grit and work my way through 124, 240, 400 and finish with 600. I buy the sandpaper on 95mm wide rolls and tear off a smaller square at a time. Sanding along the length is definitely the way to get the best finish I also use a 5050 mix of sanding sealer/thinner to stabilize grain. I'm still experimenting with finishing my turned stuff and haven't come up with a perfect method yet to get the finish I want.

Hi, That's a great rundown of your individual techie and a good instruction for others to learn and follow to apply to their craft projects. You're a knowledgeable craftsman . My style is kinda different as I want a Hillbilly / back woods kinda feel to go with the brand image. To be honest, some of my 120 grit sand paper is now not far from 240 or 400 as its been used so often and long.lol. Its time to sort and replace most of it and start again. Thanks for watching and commenting. Andy.

Do you ever work with Bamboo? If so I've love to see a video of your process!
@hiddenvalleyfootpaths25614 ай бұрын
Hi , I have never crafted or used bamboo. After your comment, it has me curious and interested in bamboo.I am going to watch some KZbin videos on this subject myself as i have no knowledge on this subject. I tend to use locally sourced Hazelwood to add an authentic Cornish feel to my hiking sticks. Thanks for watching and commenting. Andy.

@@hiddenvalleyfootpaths2561 NIce I have done just that myself They are incredibly easy to make. Juts need a blow torch and to drill some tiny relief holes in each section so it doesn't crack ^_^ I just wasn't sure if I could stain it or poly it or if I should just leave it alone ;)

hi andy ,,love your work,,,,do you ship to ireland,,how can i contact you,,,,mal sheehan

Hi, firstly, thanks for watching and commenting much appreciated. Secondly, I post to Northern Ireland, which is part of the UK postage system. I unfortunately don't post outside the UK as I am a small time Crafter with small cost margins and the cost effectiveness, and to be honest, customs procedures are not worthwhile to the customer and myself. As for contact, I have a Facebook page and a goggle search page for the workshop giving details on how to contact myself. I must make a journey at some point to venture over toIreland and enjoy the beautiful scenery. All the best,Andy.
