That was a sweet deal. You take the parts off what you need. Keep a few spares like wheels and mirrors. Sell the doors and interior you dont need. And sell the rest for scrap. You fixed your nan's car and could even make some money.

Really admire your efforts, but using a wooden block when hammering damage prevents more damage. Why did you not swap over the rear bumpers to minimise the visible damage? Good effort on the front door but there is a visible colour difference and panel gap issue on the leading edge. Still you saved a heap of money do good on you👍

Essentially what I heard that if you buy one of those cars they are ridiculously cheap as only licensed breakers are allowed to bid on those cars, and you dont need the car delivered. You go to copart strip the parts off what you need then they dispose the remaining. The trouble is that not all copart site has the ability for that yet. What is your local site?
@SavingSalvage5 жыл бұрын
Not always ridiculously cheap. But in general they are cheaper. But you only get 1 day to get everything off that you want. Otherwise you have to pay loads for more time. And you need to bring all the tools with you.
@Stormy1775 жыл бұрын
How do you collect a write-off like that? Do you have a dedicated transport truck with a winch?

The gready fucker should have took your £350 and liked it, they dont go for alot repaired. It's more of a breaker than anything like what you got it for. I actually laughed when I saw the damage to your nan's motor. I thought it was caved in from how you was describing it and I wondered why you bought another car just for that little damage but for that money you definitely made the right choice and got a deal.The rear bumper needs realigning you can see it's not right on that left side dont be lazy lol

This guy must be getting a kickback from Copart, check out any review site and you will see for yourself, I bought a insignia witch was described as start and drive, and that was just the start of the lies so I entered it back into there auction and that was over a week ago and they have no details of my car and they will just put you on hold when you call and it’s a premium phone line so this will cost you a fortune just to call them, I’m now going to have to write off £1500
@SavingSalvage4 жыл бұрын
So because you bought a lemon it means I’m getting a kickback? I dislike copart like the rest of them. But unfortunately there’s not much choice out there. You have to be very careful when buying cars from there as they are always worse than described
@theenglishtrucker18495 жыл бұрын
Whats the point in bidding if its going to cost more than the bid? It should be what you bid is what you pay. Everyone should just not bother with copart and let them go out of business.
